Gents,
As part of my trading I had done I ended up with an older queen #32 congress in red bone. The knife was in pretty good shape but had a little wobble in a sheepsfoot blade. I wanted to know a date as well, so I wrote out a letter asking Queen to look it over and see what they could do about the wobble. I contacted Diane Stanbro of Ontario knife/Queen to follow up several times via email for updates, she was timely and kept me updated along the way. I rec'd my knife home yesterday. Here's the neat part: my Queen is not a Queen! It appears someone used the blades into a different frame. It also appears it is delrin handled. I never knew, and I'm so new to this colelcting thing everyday I learn more. Bob Brenton, the president of Queen, was the one who looked it over. And also...put an actual Queen knife in the same pattern in the return envelope. That is above and beyond customer service!
So I have a frankenknife. Does anyone recognize the jigging pattern in this red delrin? I was trying to figure out what two knife makers got put together. Does the Queen tang stamp ring any bells on age for ya'll? I will deifinitely add another queen to my colelction, even with my previous issues of D2. That's amazing customer service!
Here's a few pictures. Thank you as always!
Best,
Tab

i don't know about the scales on that knife, but that tang stamp dates only a few years, 1958-60.
i love the service that you got, and i also like the way that new congress has the raised bolster pins. queen is a very stand up company, i recommend them to anyone......

Gents,
Thanks for the replies. I am favorably impressed with the company, for sure. I've got one of their schatt morgan railsplitters on the way now thanks to this event, and got my Queen stockman back out for another run in my pocket. I'd been on a tear with German Boker knives as of late, but methinks I'll return to the US of A for some more blades for now.
Thanks Queen! and AAPK!
