Not a pattern I am heavily into, but I have picked up a few that caught my eye over the years. Here's what I got............

And then I have these two, Case Razors. Never really been sure if these are truely classified as a Barlow or not. They have that look to a degree, but the squared up end cap kind of throws it off........

I got a neat Robeson Barlow last week in a lot buy.
It has a crack in the bone but it appears to be good & tight.
This is my first Robeson Barlow with Strawberry Bone handles so I was pretty stoked especially with the sheepfoot blade! It was a bit dirty and rough but it cleaned up pretty well. There some scratches in the blade that I just left. I would have to remove too much metal to get them out.

Johnnie Fain got me hooked on Strawberry Bone Robesons. ::tear::
About a month before he passed away he drew my name in the roundtable in January or February 2009 and sent me a Strawberry Bone half congress.
I have liked them ever since.
Thanks Johnnie! 8)

Nice knife, Dale.
The front bolster looks flat, while the pile side looks round, hey?

You are right Joe, but it is just a trick of the scanner.
It looks better in this scan.

I like to customize Barlows.
They were simple and efficient tools, yet there seems to be an inherit elegance that lends itself readily to customizing.

This is a Camco Barlow that I put stag handles on-
Camco Custom stag Barlow 2.jpg
This Camco Barlow got stag and some rope file work-
Camco stag Barlow 2a.jpg
Camco stag Barlow 2c.jpg
This is a Schrade that started life as a scrimshaw. I like the fancy bolsters and thought this would be an excellent knife to re-work.
The handles are amber bone stag, (bone jigged to look like stag) and I filed an eagle in to the backsprings.

I enjoy working on Batlows. ::nod::

Actually I think I have enough old Barlows to start my own web site. When someone shows up at the door and uses the words Barlow and trade in the same sentence my wife hides the kids under the bed. I have looked high and low for one of these old saw back Russell's and came across this one, Not too pretty, but functions well and is 100% original and that is saying something anymore.
