Nice one Joe. I really like the way Robeson rounded the bolsters. ::tu::

Thanks, Phil. I like that bolster too.
I asked on the Robeson thread if other Barlow makers rounded their bolster. Would you know of any? Thanks.

Robeson made Barlows with squared bolsters, as well and I'm pretty certain none of their Daddy Barlows were rounded.

I think Queen made round bolstered Barlow knives, but some of them had that hump on one side.

Utica, I think, did as well.

That's a nice one Joe.

Here is a Robeson Barlow that sold on Ebay a few weeks ago. I did not bid and I do not know who bought it.....

but, this is a very rare knife.

The bolsters are square and embossed with the RCC logo.

I have only seen two knives like this, one belonged to Pete Cohan, the other was on Ebay and both had hard rubber handles.

This knife also has jigged bone handles. The only other Barlow from Robeson I've ever seen with jigged bone is my Terrier, so I suspect this knife dates from the 1910's.

Somebody got a nice knife.

And just for the sake of clarity and comparison, my TCC Terrier at the bottom.

Thanks for your nice comment on my Barlow, Charlie.

The bone Robeson and Terrier are fine looking knives.
I like Robesons' old timey font on the bolsters.

Thanks, it is a dandy.

I often wonder if they really meant for that logo to resemble a mustachioed gentleman of the period wearing pince nez glasses.

Always reminds me of the actor, William Powell in Life With Father.

That Terrier is now the only Barlow pattern knife I own. Sold all the rest to a single buyer a few months ago. He also got over half of my scout/utility knives.

I love the Barlow Pattern knives.

Here are a couple of my Case Barlow knives that I have photos of.

and this is an old Barlow that I remember my grandfather carrying for many years. As you can see, he used the dog out of it.

JW it's a great thing to remember those things. As I get older I catch myself thinking about the old tools my granddad used,I don't have his pocket knife but I do have his old carpenter tool box and tools and his mechanic tools as well.I still use some of them from time to time even though they're old school it makes me happy as I know he'd be proud they were still useful. ::tu::

Here is an interesting Camco single blade Barlow. Notice in the pictures, it has 2 back springs, the one on the mark side extends beyond the knife frame as an eyelet for a chain or lanyard, I suppose. Both springs work the single blade as it is opened, has 1/2 stop and good snap. The springs are only 3/64" +/- stock, best I can measure. This knife is rather slim being only 3/8" thick across the handles. I noticed one here on the forum with a "Daniel Boone" logo, this one probably had such once upon a time.

Edit: just gave this little gal a Lansky treatment and wow, what an edge! ::tu::
