All About Pocket Knives

Late afternoon/early evening sun makes for some interesting (read difficult) shadows and bright spots, but I snapped this one out in the front yard atop a rotting blue bird house when I got home from work. The Wadsworth is a product of German craftsmanship shortly before the war that led to the division of this great nation. The SIG dates from a year after the dividing wall fell (1990 date stamp), but still bears W. Germany markings.

I haven't been able to take a decent pic of a knife to save my life, but I think I may have finally got one! I was out in the back yard ealier taking some pics that I posted on some other threads and they turned out pretty lousy. The sun was shining and they are really unclear and fuzzy and lacking in details...Then the mailman dropped off this nice little '89 Case Canoe for me just as the sky was starting to cloud up a little, so I went back out back and gave er another go, and low and behold, I got me a clean, non fuzzy, nice looking shot of my new knife! I know it is far from perfect, but it's the best I've been able to pull off so far.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement gents! There was actually a piece of bark on the tree that was sticking out at just the right angle so I could prop the knife right up on there and let 'er sit. Shoulda taken another one from a bit further back, would've looked kinda cool too! Hopefully that piece of bark hangs on there for a while...I was thinkin' a person could lightly hammer a couple of small nails in the tree trunk and have a little shelf of sorts for photo ops! Would look pretty cool on a birch tree, or even a shagbark hickory for added texture...

Love the shot with the marbles Paul! If you blew that up and put it on the wall it would look like completely legitimate wall art! What is that pattern GEC called? Kinda looks like an equal end muskrat....

Love those marbles! I've been struggling with background colors. White is just plain too hard to shoot against, black is much easier but dark handles get lost. Maybe tan burlap is the answer (if you don't have marbles). The knives are Bulldog brown bone gunstocks.

Slow Saturday afternoon, a good time to look at some favorite knives and maybe try some pictures. Here is a Dale Vincent customized Case 1199.

Used the peanut a while ago to open a package from Milan Tobacconists containing a new oak pipe stand and a few selected tobaccos. Here's the new stand supporting a Captain Peterson (which is older than I am), along with my Nolan Wiley briar/box elder pipe tool and Zippo pipe lighter. By the way, this was a perfect Saturday afternoon for enjoying a bowl of the new Milestone blend celebrating Milan's 100th anniversary.
