Here's an old wood handled, bear trap snappin', solid as a rock no namer that I got from Scott triple f a few months back....the general consensus seemed to be that it is from the early 1900's, and that it is of German ancestory...great looking knife, had it in the back yard, so I thought hey, might as well stick it in the bird feeder and take a pic. Actually shows off the grain of the wood kinda nice...

Some real nize pics fellas of fine chunks of cutlery. ::tu::

Mike, those back yard wood knives stuck in
something usually turn out pretty good.
Here's one not very old and w/o German heritage
with no snap and a name on the blade but other
than those minor discrepancies and no pins it's
virtually identical to yours. Uncanny ::nod::

Okay, okay since Opies are so economical (cheap) I guess a 2 for 1 deal is in order. Plus the album is open anyway.
Olivewood on the rocks. Not shaken, not stirred. Not even sanded yet.

Great shots of some real beauties Mr. Monk.
Looks like we're both using RR ties in the yard today.
I had some cloud cover and a new arrival, so....
nuthin' as fancy as the GECs but it is one of the few
years the 22087 had other than the composition shield.
Wish it had the pen's nail nick cutout in the liner like
my old '78, nice feature imho.

Wosey, I have one of those mid-size Case Texas Jacks in my EDC rotation - I like it because it has relatively large blades for a medium size knife - what I like about yours is the shield, mine has the standard oval shield, yours is the first I have seen with that shield. OH

Tanx fellers,
yep OH, I felt kind of lucky to find an unused
raised letter shield 087 blackjack.
This shield came out in 1987 and apparently
due to popular demand Case went back to
previous style mid '89.
Only '87-89 Case that didn't have the raised
letter shield were the patterns outsourced
to Camillus Like 640045R & few others.
Least that's what I heard. ::smirk::

Stan I agree w/Zingin' that is a fine shot of the Falkinator.
Reminds me of a shot I did w/a Bark River stuck in a tree.
It was just in there a minute or 2 but took me about 15 mins to get
the stain off the blade and it had been renwaxed before the shoot! ::doh::
Far as I can determine that type of thing only happens with the more
costly cutlery, never the el cheapos. (relative term)

Speaking of elcheapos since gout attack on L big toe cancelled plans
to try the Blade Show run decided to sit here and do the 'Pocket Wore'
treatment to a factory stock Opie No6 bubinga.

TY Dave, I'm beginning to like late evening light even more than early a.m.
Camera still focuses on knife sometimes, others the rock or Ivy.
Kept 8 deleted 6. Sure glad we don't have to pay for developing anymore.
Here's a nudder angle to the dangle that worked out well imho.
