Knife7Knut--That is without a doubt the coolest grapefruit knife I have ever seen...I would gladly give you 100 times what you paid for it if you ever wanted to sell it (I'm a huge fan of grapefruit!) or we could work out a trade.
Here is a rather unusual shield on an AG Russell Wharncliffe Sowbelly in Cocobolo.

Re: GOT SHIELDS?
Here is one that is even more unique....and practical. It is Taiwan made and is double ended. The unusual part about it that there are actually TWO blades fitted very closely together for the purpose of cutting on either side of the segment divider. You slip the divider between the two blades and cut down. The opposite side is for cutting the outermost side and scooping out the flesh.QTCut5 wrote:Knife7Knut--That is without a doubt the coolest grapefruit knife I have ever seen...

Re: GOT SHIELDS?
Here is an interesting old shield on a H. Boker. The Tornedo Freilauf is a type of coaster hub produced by Fichtel and Sachs A-G, this name being etched on the master blade of the knife.

Re: GOT SHIELDS?
Tornedo Freilauf is translated by Google Torpedo Freewheel.Etched too, cool.
This one is not an unusual shield, but I thought it interesting that it may have belonged to one of the family.
