Seen it referred to as such for the obvious reason.gsmith7158 wrote:I don't know Steve. That sounds appropriate though judging from the bottom half of the shield.steve99f wrote:Nice Greg. Isn't that shield called the "bullocks" shield?

Re: GOT SHIELDS?
Very desirable knife in every way Greg.
I like that pattern Wazu.
I was wrong about the name and pattern, but I did see Tony Bose's example at the Lexington Ky show.

Philco is the EF Hutton of AAPK - when he speaks, people listengsmith7158 wrote:Philco asked me to post these old Case shields here . So here they are.

Here are pictures and documentation for 15 different Case shields that I had. This significantly overlaps with what is available in the AAPK Research section for Case shields. There are plenty of Case shields that I don't have. Please add any that I am missing. If you would like them included in the collage I created, please let me know and PM a picture and I will be happy to add to the collage. Also, please correct me if I have made any mistakes in the documentation that accompanies the pictures.
The pictures are large so they will be slow to download and display when you click on them.

Great old Case Shield Reference table Ralph. Thanks for the posting and your time spent in the explanation of each shield.
I printed it out for future ref.

Re: GOT SHIELDS?
Keith (espn77) and I have been working on cataloging antique Remington shields (31 shields so far) and it remains a work in progress. Almost all of these examples came from Keith's Remington empire. We intend to subdivide these into categories with as much description as we are able to provide.
Please feel welcome to contribute. Any additions, insights regarding time periods, and other relevant Remington shield information would be appreciated tremendously.
The full size picture is very large (2 meg) so it will download slowly if you click on the preview picture.

A shield on a fixed blade. Now that's something you don't see every day. I think I like it.
