All About Pocket Knives

I've posted a few shots of the Utica but here's another. What can I say, I find it exceptionally photogenic. It seems like I have to labor and agonize over some knives and never get a good shot, but others are easy. I have a beautiful TL-29 conversion that Muskrat Man did for me. I've taken dozens of pictures of it and never got a thing that I liked. On the other hand, I have five or six of this Utica that I like. Just like women. I've known several women who don't turn too many heads but look gorgeous in photos, and a couple of true beauties who don't come across well in pictures at all.

Yep, you're right there trail. This one definitely works in pics, Grt shot!

Here are a couple pics taken back in 2008 with my old Canon PowerShot.
It didn't have as many MegaPixels, I think around 5. Did have a Macro feature though.
This first pic lacked detail on the scales.

This one was just a little too blurry overall.

Perry I think both of those pictures are great, but the second one, with the way it is composed is simply outstanding. Major kudos my friend.

New guy here,first post. I am no expert when it comes to photography but I have a few pics of some of my collection. This old imperial is nothing fancy. It was given to me from an older gentleman that lived with my great grandmother. I was probably around 12-14 years old at the time. I am now 48.It is one of my favorites to carry because of the history behind it. I know the original owner carried it for a long long time and it shows it.


This old Case has been carried and used a lot also.

Thats a #23 in natural bone, blood and pocket time has toned it nicely.
I customized the blade tip because it was too blunt before, it works nicely now. Skinned out a fat doe with it a couple years back.

It's just like the #73, but it's bigger.

I love that tip for skinning.Good job Caleb;Do ya use a fixed blade at all for skinning?

GDog56, I used to use a Buck 102, but I gave it up. I figure that if I can use a pocket knife to get most of the work done, then why not? I have nothing against fixed blades, in fact I plan on getting a few more this year, I just don't use them like I do my pocket pals.

My brother uses a Buck 103 and he loves it. I don't like not having a pointed tip, but he gets by with just using the belly of the blade. He is better at skinning deer than I am.
He does like my #23 for skinning deer though, so maybe it's not so bad.

Caleb;. I too prefer a stockman to a fixed blade preferbly a Schrade 340t or a Buck 303 but I allways have a fixed blade on me .This upcoming year it will be an Olsen I'll see if it will keep my 119 or my 158ot off the belt

I plan on saving up for a Randall.
I have a buddy who is going to pick one up for me, he lives in FL.
It will be the knife I get by with I imagine, I really don't need a lot of fixed blades laying around. I like using one of my #73s for skinning, a trapper does a really good job too.

Truffle? That's my guess J2. Nice knives and pic. I appreciate the K rang pics, my slow connection can't handle the M range and I miss out on a lot of pics because of it.
