Here are a couple I had fun with. I've found that shooting against a white background is more difficult than using a darker back drop, and I found that I like art deco. I posed the knife against an art deco picture in a book (Romana de la Salle painted by Tamara de Lempicka in 1929). My wife thinks it represents violence against women, but I think it shows the hidden steel, sharp wit and strength my wife has. I used Paint Shop to adjust the contrast and color intensity, which I do with most of my pics. The knife is an Old Dominion club knife, 3 blade trapper, made by Bulldog in 1985.

Rustle, I'm really likin' the throwback feel there, (and your prose is pretty good too!)

… and Perry, those cells are nothing short of stunning!

Here's a couple pretty simple shots, but I am pleased with these two new additions …

Thanks Perry - I'm enjoying getting back into it …

Man, those cells are just jumping off the page - beautiful!

Doug, yup - the #25 Appaloosa Jack I'd been holdin' off on, and a Primitive Bone 73 that I just happened to see right after it got posted …

Edge, that leather shows off the appaloosa and primitive bone knives real well!
Singin, it IS relaxing to try different arrangements and see what works. Your last pic with the blades all open is my favorite of the cells, its kind of like a box full of puppies (or saber-tooth kitties!) all cuddling together.

Here's a first attempt with an old 1929 Chicago Mail Order catalog. I'm pretty sure these knives came from this period.

Yes, good work! That is interesting the way you made the knives a part of the other picture.

Your camera should have an auto focus option, just about everyone does. If your camera is not focusing it could be to pour lighting, or a malfunction in the camera itself. I am no expert so I couldn't be sure what the problem is there. If you load your pics to a photo storage website, like photobucket.com, you should be able to edit the sizes easily.

Ky,

If you don't want to resize your pics, look in the camera menu under "MP". Lower the MPs ,
this will change the size. Are you using the Macro setting?

Big Monk, sounds like you're pulling our
proverbial leg (s) a bit.
Not only are those fine photos you posted, most of your peers
(AAPKers) realize if you were truly 'Too' lazy the adding
attachment procedure would have been too difficult for
you to complete successfully.
May want to add a tablespoon of Geritol to your evening
brandy, that may help. ::nod::
Here's a recent pic of my #1 EDC Cadet, showing
results of riding in same pocket with change.
So handy it has virtually retired the other EDCs
to no more than 'standby' status or specialized use.
Which could be considered as good...or bad.
