All About Pocket Knives

Like them or hate them, knives made in Pakistan exist. They are a fact of life. I DO NOT purposely collect knives made in Pakistan. But, when I buy a large group or lot of knives, a Pakistan made knife is usually included. I just toss them into a box. I feel that if more patterns or styles of Pakistan made knives are posted, then it becomes easier to identify the unbranded, made in Pakistan knives.

This pocket knife arrived in a very large lot or group of pocket knives that I bought. It becomes my first example to be posted under this topic or thread. I definitely did NOT buy the group or lot to obtain this particular pocket knife. It is a PAKISTAN, one blade, one tang stamp, 4" closed, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "STAINLESS (over) PAKISTAN" Overall, it is in VERY GOOD condition. It needed very little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Good idea Skip, and like you I have ended up with some Pakistani knives over the years. Every now and then I even get a fairly decent “beater” knife of that origin.

I have gone to a few knife shows but I am no expert. I have never seen a Pakistan
knife that is is of any significant quality. I have not gotten a Pakistani knife
in a group catch either if I recall correctly.

Thrown in a box somewhere. I wouldn't take the time to look for or post a Pakistani knife.

That’s where mine have come from, and in the seats of auction cars. That said there are countless post wanting knife ID on here that are Pakistani and maybe referring to some of this threads posted pics will help people without more individual post being(though I doubt a lot of people even try before posting).

All of these were gifted to me: My Dad gave me these three when I was a teen. I carried the Bear Hunter for years. It is really not that bad a knife, actually.

The two lockbacks have "Liberty", then "Pakistan" on the tangs, and the imprint of ships on them.
The larger has the blade etched with "The Captain"... ...while the smaller is etched as "The Commander". The picture of the paddle boat is upside down on it, which is why I posted the picture that way. Lastly, I was given another Bear Hunter as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago. This is a huge Stockman, over 8" long when closed. I think that my Dad had bought a couple pf them back in the 80's, then found them and gave them to me and my brother as gag gifts for Christmas.

I most certainly did NOT buy the group or lot to obtain this particular pocket knife. It is a PAKISTAN, one blade, one tang stamp, 2 7/8" closed, lockback, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp is curved or arched and says " PAKISTAN" This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It came with a sheath. It did NOT need any cleaning. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

A buncha Pack E. Stan knives: from a tiny lockback, a coupla Barlows; a coupla balisongs; a navaja-style & a fixed blade with a folder in the handle; a giant lockback; to a a coupla trappers(a 2 blade & a 10 blade).

The main blade front tang stamp says "STAINLESS (over) PAKISTAN" This pocket knife definitely has some weight to it. This pocket knife is in EXCELLENT+ condition. It did NOT need any cleaning. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

I actually purposely bought a Pakistan knife a while back. My son was graduating Army AIT at Ft. Benning and while waiting for him to be released I walked into the gift shop area & was looking at a knife. The girl working called another person to come tell me the story. Well apparently the guy that acted as the interpreter for the US Army & his family made knives & since the US was unable to get them out & brought to the US the store would sell their knives and send the proceeds to someone still there in the Army and it would then go to the family. Yes, this store was on base and inside the huge hall.

These two PAKISTAN pocket knives arrived in a very large lot or group of pocket knives that I purchased. They are now my most recent examples to be posted under this topic or thread. I absolutely, positively, did NOT purchase the group or lot to obtain these two particular pocket knives. They both are PAKISTAN, one blade, one tang stamp, lockback, pocket knives. The shorter one is 3" closed and the larger one is 4" closed. Both of the main blade front tang stamps say, "STAINLESS (over) PAKISTAN" These pocket knives are both in VERY GOOD condition. They did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped them off. I took some pictures and here they are.

This pocket knife arrived in a lot or group of pocket knives that I purchased back in August 2019. It was previously posted, by me, under the "Camillus 72 Clones" topic or thread. It now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. I absolutely, positively, did NOT purchase the group or lot to obtain this particular pocket knife. It is a Red Deer, three blade, 3 5/8" closed, swelled center, two main blade etches, "whittler" pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front etch says, "RED DEER" with an image of a deer head. The main blade back etch says "PAKISTAN", but it was too faint to photograph. I can NOT find any trace of a tang stamp(s), anywhere on this pocket knife.

Not too recently, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. It now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT buy the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it did get added to my general, "foreign born", pocket knife accumulation. There is absolutely NO country of origin, or ANY other stamp(s) or marking(s), anywhere on this pocket knife. However, I am 99.999% positive that this pocket knife was made in either PAKISTAN or CHINA. But, just to be on the safe side, I also posted this pocket knife in the "Chinese-made knives" forum, under the China "Miscellaneous" Pocket Knives topic. It is an UNBRANDED, one blade, 3" closed, a lanyard hole, lockback, pocket knife. The blade does NOT have a half stop. The blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The blade does have a GOOD closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. It did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.
