12 Official Boy and Girl Scout Knives – Remington + Pal + Display Box – Wonderful Starter Collection
This fixed-price listing with the ability to make fair offers was valued based on the individual grades of each knife and recent eBay sales for the same knife if available. These knives are referenced in both Ed Holbrook's book 'Official Scout Blades' and Joseph Kerr's book '600 Scout Knives' as depicted in the accompanying images. This listing is for all 12 knives and the replica oak hardware store display box which measures 15.25” long x 4.75” wide x 1.5” tall.
- Knife #14 - This knife has a factory relatively straight permanent bail. The main blade opens smoothly and without a half-stop. The other blades operate as designed and the awl/punch is nearly 90% full. The left pin on the pile side has a stable crack that extends to the bolster.
- Knife #16 – This knife has a factory straight permanent bail. The main blade opens relatively smoothly and without a half-stop. The other blades operate as designed and the awl/punch maintains some of its original blueing and is 90% full.
- Knife #17 – This knife has a factory straight permanent bail. The shortened main blade opens relatively smoothly and without a half-stop. The other blades operate as designed and the awl/punch maintains none of its original blueing but is nearly 100% full.
- Knife #26 – This knife has a factory straight permanent bail. The main blade opens relatively smoothly and without a half-stop. The other blades operate as designed and the awl/punch has none of its original blueing but is nearly 100% full.
- Knife #27 – This knife is believed to have left the factory without a bail. The main blade opens relatively smoothly and without a half-stop and virtually zero blade play when fully extended. The other blades operate as designed and the awl/punch maintains much of its original blueing and is 50% full.
- Knife #28 – This knife has a factory straight and correct bail. The fully etched main blade opens relatively smoothly and without a half-stop and virtually zero blade play when fully extended. The other blades operate as designed and the awl/punch maintains none of its original blueing and is 80% full.
- Knife #35 – This knife has a factory straight, correct, and removable bail. The long nail pull faintly etched main spear blade opens firmly with a great snap, has no half-stop, and virtually zero blade play when fully extended. The other two blades operate as designed. The brown jigged bone handles have no visible imperfections.
- Knife #36A – This knife has a factory straight correct and removable bail. The long nail pull unetched main blade opens firmly with a good snap, has no half-stop, and virtually zero blade play when fully extended. The other two blades operate as designed. The brown/yellow jigged bone handles have a stable pin crack on the left mark side and the right pile side (same pin).
- Knife #40 – This knife has a factory straight and correct bail. The unetched main blade opens firmly with a good snap, has no half-stop, and virtually no blade play when fully extended. The other blades operate as designed and the awl/punch retains all its original blueing and is 100% full. The brown jigged bone handles have no visible imperfections,
- Knife #42 – This knife has a factory straight and correct bail. The unetched main blade opens firmly with a good snap, has no half-stop, and some minor blade play when fully extended. The other blades operate as designed and the awl/punch retains none of its original blueing and is approximately 90% full. The black composition handles have no visible imperfections.
- Knife #193 – This knife has a straight model-correct bail. The faintly etched main spear blade has a solid snap, without a half-stop, and strong evidence of heavy sharpening, use, and carrying. The integrated nickel silver liners and bolsters are in remarkable condition given the age of this knife and the brown jigged bone handles exhibit no visible signs of cracks or chips.
- Knife #194 - This knife has a straight model-correct bail. The faintly etched main spear blade has a solid snap, without a half-stop, and strong evidence of normal sharpening, use, and carrying. The integrated nickel silver liners and bolsters are in remarkable condition given the age of this knife and the brown jigged bone handles exhibit no visible signs of cracks or chips.
