Cattaraugus Chrome Plated Chrome Vanadium Hunting Knife With Original Sheath Aluminum Pommel
The 'Cattaraugus' tang stamp dates this hunting knife to the 1930's and it's closer tomint than not. Vanadium is a high carbon steel and this blade was factory chromed over Vanadium. As you can see, there are swirls on both sides of the blade but the blade is near full at the choil, so very little honing and little tono real use. The stacked leather handle is tight with red, black and brass spacers with a small aluminum guard. 9 1/2" OAL with a 5" blade. The original sheath has some wear spots but the stitching is 100% intact. Not too shabby for some 90 years.
