ADDITIONAL INFO:      This knife is made in the Tualatin Oregon Kershaw factory. It uses Ken Onion’s Speed Safe design and opens with authority. The 2001-2002 Kershaw catalog says the blade is hardened to 55-57 on the Rockwell C Scale.

The #1515 Black Out has been out of production for a number of years. This was the first assisted opening knife that I fell “madly in love with” so I bought two of them one to use and one as a backup. Kershaw and Ken onion have come out with many designs since the Black Out that I have fallen for even harder. The Blur and the Leek are two patterns that come to mind and I have several of those! What I really liked about this knife besides the good 440 steel, the “Kershaw sharp,” in the assisted opening was the fact that the handle on this knife fills my hand without weighing a ton. This is a great solid knife, made in the USA with good steel. Besides this knife I haven’t seen one of these new in the box for several years. I even forgot I had this one but I tucked it away in a drawer in my shop and run across to the other day. I did forget to take pictures of the box with the knife, but the knife comes in the original box with paper work.
