This is a Vintage or Antique MILLER BROS MERIDEN 3-Blade Dolphin Lobster Pen Folding Pocket Knife with Candlestick Ends and with a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Spear Point Main Blade, a Used and Sharpened Carbon Steel Pen Secondary Blade, a Carbon Steel Dual-Sided Fingernail File, or Manicure, Blade that Opens From the Bottom of the Frame, a Nice Set of Genuine Mother of Pearl Scales with No Cracks, Splits or Missing Chips, Three (3) Polished Brass Handle/Pivot Pins in Each Scale, Brightly Polished Brass Bottom Liners with Some Nice File Work, No Top Liners as the Thick Slice of Pearl Serves as the Top Liners, 3” in Length, Made by Miller Bros Cutlery Co. That was Located in Meriden, Connecticut and Made Between c.1872-1926.

This is a lightly used Miller Bros 3-Blade Dolphin Lobster Pen Folding Pocket Knife with candlestick ends. The knife has a lightly used and sharpened carbon steel spear point main blade with a common nail pull. Both blade faces have scratches from use and some light staining and extremely light micro-pitting. Stamped on the front tang is MILLER (over) BROS (over) MERIDEN. On the opposite end of the frame is a carbon steel pen secondary blade. Both faces have scratches from use and some very light micro-pitting. Stamped on the front tang is MILLER (over) BROS (over) MERIDEN. Opening from the bottom of the frame is a long carbon steel dual-sided fingernail file, or manicure, blade. It has a standard vertical ridge and valley file on one blade face and a recessed parallel set of file ridges on the other face. Both blade faces have scattered staining and some light pitting. The end of the blade is the fingernail cleaner but has a sharpened leading edge. The spear blade has good open and close snap but the pen blade has no snap at all and doesn’t seat all the way in the frame. The fingernail file blade has a very light snap on open and a good snap on close. The knife has a nice set of genuine Mother-of-Pearl scales. There are no cracks or splits and just a tiny chip out of the very end on the back scale. There are three (3) nickel silver handle/pivot pins in each scale. The bottom liners on the knife are file worked brass presenting a reeded edge look. The knife has no metal top liners as they simply used the thick slice of pearl to act as the top liners. This great looking old Vintage Miller Bros Dolphin Lobster Pen Pocket Knife is 3” in length and made between c.1872-1926. Additional photos or information on request.
