ADDITIONAL INFO:      This is a very interesting knife from a designer and knife maker with some very innovative concepts. Two or three years ago I was having lunch in downtown Silverton Oregon with my friend Bill. Bill is hunter, a little bit of a gun collector and knife collector. So I didn’t have any trouble talking him into going to a couple of antique stores in the downtown Silverton area. We walked around the corner from the restaurant and there was a knife shop! Not a traditional cutlery store but a shop where people made and sold knives. The owner, Glenn Klecker was talking to someone else about something he was making and a lady; I believe it was Glenn’s wife, showed us some of their pioneering knife designs. I was familiar with Glenn’s work; we had even talked at the OKCA show when he had the table across from mine a few years before. Glenn is the inventor of the Klax® Ax and a very innovative do-it-yourself type multi tool called Every Day Carry. I had not seen the Klecker Nirk Novo before so when I saw that I had to get it. I like his Klecker Lock which I think is a very “outside of the box” design! The folded piece of stainless steel sheet is not just the handle it is also the spring, the lock, lock bar and lock release, all made from one piece of stainless steel that has been cut and folded to a precision shape. The design kind of blew me away, especially being a fan of George Schrade’s Wire Jack. This knife is basically the Wire Jack meets 21^st Century technology; of course anything with a quasi-Wharncliffe blade always catches my attention! I have enjoyed this knife for a few years and even carried it a couple times but it still has a wicked sharp factory edge. It’s time to pass it along for someone else to enjoy. I believe the pattern has been discontinued. I hope you enjoy it is much as I did.
