Schrade LB1 Tang stamp?
According to the info posted LB1 was made from 1981-1996. I have seen two differnet tang stamps on what I beleive to be regular production knives. Uncle Henry Schrade + LB1 USA and another that is just two lines (No Uncle Henry). Was the 3 line first of the LB 1 or was the one w/ the Uncle Henry a s...

Re: 73 06/07 Primitive Bone?
Thanks boggs good info. The best I've got on this. So all 36 knives were numbered 1-36, and they are the only transition knives you know of that don't have a 2007 tang stamp. Do I have this correct? Oh you wouldn't happen to have an extra 2306 Casien you would want to sell?

73 06/07 Primitive Bone?
Hi all, Have a 73 primitive bone. Blade is stamped 2006, it is not listed until 2007 production. I know that GEC used 06 blades on some 07 production knives. My question is the etching on the spine of the blade (1-36). I was told that this is one of 36 knives that were made with the 06 blade. One so...

Re: A confused knife?
Hey Dale, guess I should have said gray box, but here is the paper work that came with it also. Still not the best at closeups. Have a Samsung TL105 12 mp and 4X zoom(any suggestions on closeups would be much appreciated also). The tang stamp is pretty straight foward. SCHRADE +(looks more like a cl...

Re: A confused knife?
So your saying this is an 833UH patn that was made at the end and a 834UH blade was thrown in. I forgot to mention, I have the original silver box for the knife. Would they have had those boxes left over from the 90's? Also do you know about that cloverleaf instead of the plus sign? Could this be a ...

Re: A confused knife?
Have one to add. Have a 833UH w/ a clip blade tang stamped 834UH. The plus on this knife looks more like a clover leaf than a +(if that helps in dating it). I know the knives were built on the same frame. The 833UH was disc. in 95 (so this would exclude it being thrown together at the end of Schrade...

Thanks Dale! I guess if I'm unsure, post a pic here and see what you guys think. For the most part though I like the vintage knives(the old bone and stag), and Taylor certainly does not make them like that!

I believe, that bone will have "pockets" in it where blood vessels were, and stag will have "growth lines" similar to ivory or a tree.
