Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............

My step father found this at an estate sale and being the nice guy, gave it to me. A peanut sized stockman. No idea what year it is, no model number just KaBar. It had the typical pocket rust on all the blades and the brass was green but I have it looking pretty good now.

Here are the remains of my Italians. The big stag with the bayonet blade is nearly a foot when open! The big imitation buffalo laying on the blue box is 11 inches open. I got most of my auto direct from AB in the eighties. They arrived in a box labeled "books"!

Re: Knife Shows...What's Up KC?

Ha! You want to know a sad situation, Give OKC a try. Only Gun shows and there are about 4 different gun shows in regular rotation. They have so many gun shows and they charge so much to get in that nobody goes for just knives. Whatever knife or knives they buy they have to tack on almost $15 to th...

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............

stayinsharp, Take another picture of the tang stamp on the clip blade and someone will date it for you. Can't see enough of it to make a sure call but if I had to guess from what I can see it's probably a 1958-60 stamp. There is a tang stamp chart for Queens posted here on AAPK under the Knife rela...

Queen #39 Dating

I won a Queen #39 and want to know how to date it. I tried flowers and candy to no avail. She has a tang stamp with the crowned Q and the word "steel" next to it. no other stamps. It has delrin winter bottom scales and a thong hole in the small end bolster. Any help?

Knife Shows...What's Up KC?

As a much younger man I attended a few knife shows in Kansas City Missouri. I moved to Texas for a couple years and attended a couple of shows in Corpus Christi. I returned to KC in 1983 or so and found the knife situation pretty poor. No show for many years other than dealers at gun shows. I went t...

Re: A LIL SPYDERCO PRAISE......SHOWIN SOME LUV :)

As far as Spyderco's customer service goes, I too found it to be outstanding. When the plastic Enduras first came out I bought two of them. EDC for several years then one after the other, a Bobcat seatbelt ripped the molded pocket clips off. While at a knife show in Springfield Missouri I spotted a ...

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............

This one came in today. I have traded knives with Bob (just bob) and he was so kind to let me choose frome several nice knives. I am a sucker for Barlows and this Case XX looked too nice with it´s Appaloosa-bone handles. As you might know I am not much of a patina-guy and so I gave it a slight poli...

Home made knife.

I made this knife with a piece of crosscut saw blade my grandpa gave to me and scaled it in purple heart wood. A friend bead blasted the pits out of it and gave the blade a frosted look. The pins are nickel silver and the sheath is from an old purse.

Re: The Best of Homemade Vintage

Here's a picture of one that I posted under another topic looking for information. This knife appears to have very similar construction to the subject knife (Concave ground blade, flanged liners, the hole at the end of the backspring for the shackle etc.) The most obvious differences I see are the ...

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............

I just got this and almost wish I hadn't. It's an older KA-BAR folding guard pocket knife that is in worse shape than I thought. There is deep pitting on both sides of the blade, the back spring is horrid, the tang stamps are gone and the lockup is very sloppy due to corrosion of the blade and sprin...
