Re: My Kinda Gal

The problem is this - we as everyday Americans know what is going on, but our political class doesn't give a damn what the citizenry thinks or wants - they have their own agenda and it only includes using us as their worker bees. OH Hi All, OH is right on and you can see the reason here at http://w...

Re: Polish a Jacknife's Handles Without Removal?

flangster, I suggest that before you go the material removal treatment that you try a method I have used successfully on some knives and mostly on military stocks, in particular my M1 Garands. Unless the wood is so bad that stripping with oven cleaner and a total refinish is required, here is what I...

Wanted: A. G. Russell K-87 One-Hand Knife

Hi All, I am looking to acquire an original A. G. Russell K-87 One-Hand Knife in AUS-8A. Though I would like a mint version I would accept an excellent condition user. (not serrated, just the normal general purpose blade like my light-weight one-hand K-93C) Thanks, Russell Example image off the web:

Re: COMPASS KNIVES

Hi all, I've got a question, mostly directed to Dale, about the Navitool. The Schrade research list and the above post shows both navitool and iquip in the 2003 and 2004 catalogs. Were they produced in the USA at that time, hence the high price? I see the navitool now selling on ebay for under $20. ...

Re: Schrade oddities

Hi All,

Here is a pair of 834Y knives I found interesting. The older Schrade Walden (bottom knife) showing the actual bird's eye pivots and the later Schrade NY with Swinden pins and fake bird's eyes. Nifty.

Schrade oddities

Hi All, I have been rummaging around of late while being housebound after back surgery. (Boredom to the max trying to be as inactive as the doctor recommends.) I came across a Schrade Ltd. knife that I got in a multiple knife deal several years ago that baffles me. It came in a Schrade Walden hinged...

Re: The Grand Slam

Jerry and Grant, you guys are quite right. I never thought to compare scale pin placement on the SL6 to discern Schrade vs Camillus; and as far as the other knives, never had any in hand to see pins in bolsters. I just went with ebay images using the profiles related to familiar Schrade models. Also...

Re: My latest Schrade

Hi All, Here is a sweet old Schrade I ran across a while back. I didn't see it in the schrade lists but found it in the http://www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us 1953 and 1954 price lists, (it was not in the 1950 nor the 1955 list). I think it is celluloid, should I be scared of it or is its current co...

Nice Russell. ::tu:: Well, since you asked for it, here it is: It one of the most comfortable multi tools I have ever used. Hi All, In my recent curiosity sparked by a Stanley SL6 that appeared to be a twin of a Schrade 863, I started looking around at other Stanley stuff. It turns out that Stanley...

Hi All, I agree with Mike that the deer is not looking at the blob nor is it startled. Whatever the artifact is, I believe it is directly on the lens. Look at the clearly delineated margin of the bright part, it appears to me to be on the plane of the lens and is either 1) some bug secretion on the ...

Re: Anyone like the Blues?

Hi all, I managed to run down who that is. His name is Brandon McFarlane and he has quite a few videos on youtube. One is an old timey sepia toned one (Money Won't, 2008), pretty good production values in the video. Also, a 2011 video with that song has a sweet 66? Chevelle SS in it. I'm hoping this...

Heh, Catnip is in the mint family...it has certain properties that make cats act all crazy. Oh my, there is another related plant: Cannabaceae (scientific name), is commonly known as the Hemp Family. Lamiales (scientific name) includes the Mint family. I hope that helps clear up the ambiguity. Anywa...

Re: How 'bout that Tattoo?

TripleF, I'm kindof on the same page there, though with several random observations. When I was very young, my grandfather told me that if I ever went bald I should get a spider tattooed on my head to keep the flies off. Fortunately, at 59 I still have a full head of hair, albeit somewhat greying. I...

Hi All! I too hope you all had a Merry Christmas. I had a very pleasant day, with a BIG surprise. One of the packages I opened had Steve Pfeiffer's book "Collecting Case Knives"! I was astonished! I didn't think she paid any attention to my addiction. She also payed me a great compliment a...

Hi all,

I have several new items to add:

The first image is of 3OT and 5OT knives, several of which I find quite uncommon.

The second image is of two 18OT specials that were given to me at thanksgiving by my wife's father.

Enjoy!

I have finally acquired each of the main representatives of the USA Schrade multitools. But I am a happy camper for the mome...

Re: GUNS!!!

Barry, I have one other handgun cartridge carbine combo. (Notwithstanding the MecTech 1911 conversion). I don't use them at all as I truly prefer the .41 round. Did you ever do the anti-bounce/bind modification on the Marlin? My first (as shown) was gained after a coworker at TTU sold it to me out o...
