Re: Antique Hobo with Unusual Tang Stamp - Any Info?

Magnetic Cutlery Co c. 1900 - 1932
Once had a (about 5 1/4") 2 pc hobo, 2 pc pearl with a nickel silver divider in the center
it was very near mint, looked like a KA-BAR or Union Cut to me, marked the same as this one
A guy that had a knife book had appraised it for $28.00

Re: Union Cutlery co . ID

From a reproduction catalog published by The Union Cutlery Company circa 1912 - 1923
Looks like they were offered in "no stain" steel
sheath shown looks flimsy and rather big for the knife
Sure do like the stag shown on yours

Re: Does the Case Tested bone have jigging like this?

Thank you Ralph for the great pictures, they sure show food for thought
The 1941 Case catalog or price sheet has no mention of a 6380 pattern
The Case 1942 price sheet does not mention the 6380 pattern
The Case 1949 price list does include the 6380 pattern

Re: Brantford Cutlery Co ?

I am confident that Camillus did make some knives with the Brantford stamp. This "have had" whittler showed no signs of being apart for repair, the master also has the 4 line Camillus mark. Easy for a cutler to install an identical, except for the mark, blade.

Re: VICTORINOX knives 1884- present SWISS ARMY KNIVES

I was honored to receive this Tie-Tac from Charles and Veronika Elsener after they had bought several vintage, USA made, knives from my table at the 2011 Blade Show. They were acquiring knives to put in the museum at their USA headquarters. A very delightful, and down to earth, couple. They had empl...

Re: War years

Assuming this is pattern # 62087, Case price list from 1-1-42 lists them at $18.00 per dozen and the 1-1-49 list show them at $36.00 per dozen. The July 7, 1943 inventory list does not contain any 62087 however this list shows they had these "pkt knives hafted ready to inspect" in the patt...

Re: JOHN SELLERS SHEFFIELD IVORY WHARNCLIFFE KNIFE?

barkz that is a most interesting and super nice knife. It could be called a pruner. The threaded and knurled bolster is most unusual, beautiful. The seal cap also is very unique, it must have a special use?? The Sheffield Knife Book by Geoffrey Tweedale has John Sellers & Sons as being amongst a...

Do not know how many were produced but at the Nov. 27, 1982 Case (factory) Knife Auction held in Knoxville TN, they listed 159 sets for sale. They were listed as 561 Deluxe Knife/Ax Combination (genuine stag handles) "XX" and "TESTED" Stamps. These all were in the "pumpkin&q...

Mark I really enjoyed and appreciated the story and pictures of your Grandpa John Hackney. I knew him very well, bought a rare Case Tested trapper from him once for $1500.00. Remember him selling the Remington Bullets and then he bought more later on. Seems like he had two daughters (your aunts I as...

Re: Help with identification of pocket knife in museum

Simmons Hardware Co abbreviated to Simmons Hdwe Co. c. 1868 - 1960 located in St Louis Mo did have the Horseman pattern made in England. The one I had (cannot find a picture) had their trademark KEEN KUTTER etched on the master blade. Simmons grew to be a giant in the industry gaining control of Wal...

Re: Help with identification of pocket knife in museum

Not certain but it looks like there is also a fleam blade that is not open, it would be hinged on the bottom or big end
and lays between the stag scale and the liner on side opposite the shield, looks like the end is exposed. This pattern
will really grow on you. Thanks for posting the pictures

Just a super good looking Keen Kutter that has one difference from most pictures.
How many other KKs have you seen with the bottom pin off set from center??
Did they ever have any knives made in Germany??
