Re: Carving up old Tom

Seeing your set, @Ridgegrass, and your story about passing the set on to your son made me smile, as I had our carving set out and was touching it up on the steel.

Our old knife does a great job carving a turkey and it is a joy to use!

I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving!!

Re: Any Kershaw fans out there?

Up until recently, my interest in Kershaw has grown tremendously! When I was a kid in the 70s, I personally thought their gentleman’s knives, like the square shaped one or the one with the brass wheel were odd. But now, I think that both of their vintage and new knives are badass. What do you guys ...

Terrible tragedy.

The folks of the UP do a great job of remembering.

The museum at Whitefish point is well worth a visit.

Re: Information on this friedr herder switchblade

Well I didn't know before what sort of knife to take with me while herding friedr's, but now I do!!

That is a beauty, and the stag looks like it is good and gnarly/popcorn textured.

Nice find and I look forward to information from the group here, as well as some tales of friedr herding!!

Re: Camillus Wildlife Misprint?

Well it is interesting, and so are the above answers lol.

My vote is it is a bust of a kangaroo with a very odd protruberance on it's forehead.

I can't wait for the experts to clarify!!

Re: Any Kershaw fans out there?

Nice knives, folks! I had to do an impromptu road trip this weekend for family reasons, so I took the following for fidget-flipping duty. 20231021_201749.jpg I am still using the original black Livewire 9000 for everyday cutting, and I also had my 2022 GEC Bunny knife, and my Vic Waiter. Re: Birds - personal observations

Yes, there is some concern, we have seen a red fox in the yard, but so far Red is holding his own...

I would prefer he was protected, but not my call....

He was happy to see me this morning I guess, he came running over to me and bumped against my leg when I gave him some sunflower seed.

Re: Birds - personal observations

Thank you, Gents! I'll let Red know you liked his pictures. There are three roosters next door, and Red does do his share of crowing, but tha largest one is kept in the pen, and he is louder than Red. They start in about a half hour before sunrise, and of course anytime they see someone wandering ar...
