Re: Who would have thought of this?

Never mind the 1920 Case Tested with the Tennessee rattlesnake jigged bone and modern Queen blades going for 900.00 bucks. Ebay is ever vigilant.

Re: Case 6202 1?2

Thanks Steve and Ken. I have a 5 dot and i swear it looks like bone! Steve i tried tapping on it, magnify glassing it and even guessed and I still do not have the trained eye that will tell me if my 5 dot is Delrin or bone! Any tips? either way, it's gonna be in my collection till the bucket kick.

Case 6202 1?2

i read the "Case Pattern Numbers Reference Guide' page some time ago. It says the 02 pattern was made from a around 1915 to 1979 when the pattern was discontinued. It also stated that only Delrin was used from 70-79, I have a few pre-1970 examples in my collection. I noticed lots of 02's being ...

case tested 62031

I know just enough about vintage case to make a fool of myself here and again, so have this question: Does this check out? Meaning does the stamp and shield all seem legit.

Re: anybody else think GEC is losing it?

They sure lost me. I buy but few GECs now. My latest was the 39. It is not even in the same ball park quality wise as the earlier runs (2010-2015-ish). The 39 I bought has a weak snap. Except for the couple 86s i bought couple years ago. all others the last 5 years or so have weaker snap. GEC knives...

Re: The new English Jacks

This is what GEC collecting has become. Some of the Distributors hold back these knives and sell them at an inflated price. GEC allows these unethical tactics. There are also buyers who have developed relationships with as many distributors as they can, then they buy up what ever the limit may be (2...

Re: what would you like to see from GEC?

First and foremost: The blade snap on GECs have slowly become "collector queen" wimpy. Bring back the snap of a working knife. While nail busters are not fun, a weak snap is worse in my opinion. Get less cute, example, Urban Jack and the new can opener Barlow. Somehow figure out a more equ...
