Re: What is the favorite fixed blade that you own????

Here is my favorite. It is a 1918 L.F.&C. Mk1 Trench Knife and matching scabbard. Unfortunately I do not have a story about it other than I got very lucky to find it. The grip unfortunately has had the blackened color cleaned off though.

Re: Ulster Utility Knife

Your knife is actually a 10th Mountain Division or First Special Service Force ( Devil's Brigade) knife. A little bit better than just a utility knife. That is one of the more expensive military pocket knives of WW2. Great find.

Thanks Ralph! I will check it out. I thought it must be pretty low production as they are pretty hard to find.

Re: what is the rarest case knife you have??

Here is my 5394. It is a 10 dot prototype from 1980. Even though it is a newer Case, it is a very uncommon knife to encounter. I like the regular production knives that are more uncommon. I do not mean Case Select or Case Classics though. Any idea as to production numbers on this one?

Re: Colonel Coon Case Trappers

The previous knife had a synthetic pearl handle. Notice the "c within a C" marking on all of these knives. Here is another made for the Permian Basin Knife Club in 1985. Notice the beautiful etch that Colonel Coon became famous for. Also notice the box, which is a style that was utilized b...

Re: Colonel Coon Case Trappers

The stag knife was produced for the 1981 year Bold City Knife Club. I would guess that this knife was made for them because this knife resembles the 1979 NKCA knife. I do know from what I have read that Mr. Harris was an instrumental member of the NKCA. The AGCA knife is also marked with the "c...

Re: Colonel Coon Case Trappers

This particular knife is a custom Colonel Coon prototype that was produced for the Show Me Cutlery Club. This has been verified by Tonya Hinch and the Colonel himself. Adrian Harris is known for making his own dyes and handle scales, making handle shields (notice the mule that resembles the Mule Day...

Colonel Coon Case Trappers

I have decided to write this thread in order to inform collectors of some of my findings as a researcher and collector. As a lifetime collector of Case XX knives and Colonel Coon knives, I have always been interested in the urban legend of the elusive Colonel Coon Trapper. What I really mean is, unl...

Re: Old Knives with Rare Tang Stamps

Absolutely beautiful Stevenson 45. That one is nicer than mine. Mine does not have the factory edge and has a little carbon staining. I still need a Camillus 1949 and a nicer 1962 than the one I have. Know anyone to trade with? I have an extra 1957, Stevenson USA, Stevenson 45...Anyway, I will save ...

Re: Old Knives with Rare Tang Stamps

Here is a rare one with a hard to find stamp. This is a recent upgrade that I chased after for a very long time. This is a WW2 Stevenson U.S.A. with factory edge. Some say that it could have been manufactured by Robeson due to the style of can opener, screwdriver/tab lifter, and punch. This knife up...

Re: TL-29 Electricians Knives

Here is my most recent find. Purchased it from Ross Askins who is the man who supplied this TL-29 to M.H. Cole for illustration in his Military Knives Bayonets and Machetes Book IV , page 50. It is a Kabar manufactured I.C. Co. tang stamped version. It was stated to be very rare as he had only seen ...

Re: My New Remington R1613

WOW! What a nice collection. Here are two of my prize Remingtons. They are from the 1988 "Tang Stamp Series". These have the new Madison, N.C. tang stamp. Camillus only manufactured 2000 knives of each pattern. These knives are super special though. They are the only Remington prototype kn...

Re: My New Remington R1613

Thanks Junebug! This knife is really starting to grow on me. The more I look at old Remington knives, the more I realize that I don't have nearly enough of them. Re: New 3 Blade Army Air Corps Knife?

Brass and nickel silver could be seen on some military knives until around 1942. Then later in the war in 1945, brass liners were again seen in the stainless steel Kingston demo knives and other manufacturers knives. This is a generality, of course, as you can find examples of brass being utilized f...

Jerry, very interesting knife you have. I never claimed that "only" military knives were stamped that way though. Search Google and you will find info on engineer knives tang stamped MADE IN U.S.A.
