The handle material is of coarse stag . They made that pattern ( stockman ) throughout the entire production 1978-1988. It also came in rosewood 679w and bone 679b. The triple 000 is the knife that is auctioned off annually by the Maury county mule day guild to support their program. They usually bring a good premium above standard numbered knives. Hope this helps!

Warbird there were many of Adrian's knives without any etching on the blades . As far as value condition is everything . Your knife would probably clean up ok but excellent barlows with stag sell for around 200 to 250 dollars with etching . Hope this helps.

1983 large congress 1984 buffalo horn trapper 1985 stockman 1986 barlow 1987 stockman with barlow bolsters 1988 razor trapper 1989 one blade jack 1990 small toothpick 1991 small stockman 1992 small trapper 1992 was the last club knife. Ben wells made all the knives after Tn knive works closed in 1988.

Yes i beleive it is a contract knife made at tennessee knife works. There are many special order knives that dont have the colonel coon tang and shield manufactured by Adrian. However i do have a ge shield that is part of the remaining knife parts from Ben Wells. So in my opionion it is a true coon....
