Re: Hear of a Good One Lately
Here is one that I found amusing... The Haircut. A man was getting a haircut prior to a trip to Rome. He mentioned the trip to the barber, who responded, “Why would anyone want to go there. It’s crowded and dirty and full of Italians. You’re crazy to go to Rome. So, how are you getting there?” “We’...

I would say most of the nudes and bathing beauties would be models not family members or girlfriends.
The ones Wabash made were models mostly from Chicago.

Re: Iroquois
I picked up this Iroquois tear drop jack recently at a gun show. It is 3 and 3/8 inches OAL, has half stops on both blades, and is handled in what appears to be candy stripe celluloid. It has a different tang stamp than my other Iroquois in that it is circled and says Utica NY. It also has the numb...

I wish I could post my iphone videos here. Sarah is walking hundreds of feet in her rolling walker. She can dress herself, brush her teeth and apply her makeup. She can feed herself, though eating soup with a spoon is still difficult and messy. We can leave the house without the aid of the fire dep...

Re: Rough Riders!
I have a few RRs. Maybe 10.
I would never ever carry one though.
Life is to short to carry a cheap knife.
I'll carry my GECs, Chris Reeve, Benchmade, ZTs etc.

Re: "Forcing" a patina
I think everyone has covered this pretty well, but for me slicing tomatoes gives a good, natural patina. I would clean the blades after each use and wipe them with food-grade Mineral Oil. The color becomes more brown and varied, rather than the grey vinegar patina. Slicing strawberries gave it a da...

No. A jobber is someone that sells knives not manufactured by themselves.Ridgegrass wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 3:39 pm Duly noted, So a "jobbed" knife is from the seller and the maker is the "Jobber".Is that too nit-picky? Thanks
Such as Case Bros. when they started out and also Western.

Re: Collections, Sub-Collections and Family Group Photos
Got these in a collection I purchased last month. Thought a group shot would be a good idea before they all found other homes. Robeson by Queen red stag bone. Might have to dig out some other sub-collections in this 44 piece collection but this one stood out right away. Top left: fiddleback whittle...

Thanks for that information, I was unaware.Mumbleypeg wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 8:59 pm Thanks David. I’d call it worm groove bone too, which is one reason I’m thinking it’s Rogers. Rogers was a premier supplier (maybe the originator) of worm-groove bone up until the 1960s.

Re: SHOW YOUR NEW (TO YOU) ROBESON
Picked up this Robeson to add to my gunstock whittlers. Says it’s a 632374 (I think - the last digit is hard to read). It has jigged bone covers (probably Rogers bone), 3-3/8 inch closed length. I don’t find that pattern number in any of my references but I have a couple other Robeson patterns that...
