Actually there were 3 sizes of auto griz produced by Kabar. The large size and a smaller size in winterbottom bone there also was a rare and often forgotten smaller third. size. (see Mark Ericksons book American switchblades pg 82 ). I am posting pics of a display case with all three of these origin...

You are correct to my knowledge never released These were in the research and development ( RD) room when Schrade was closing and I was allowed to preseve some of the more unusual items. LT

Yes those are 49ers I have a couple of those complete displays. Also if you look at the back of a 49er they have the anvil struck die on them I have the original hammer and die used to do this ( it was done by hand. Thannkyou for the interest. I also like this camper pattern. I have attached a pic of some of mine a Latama, Zoppis, Hubertus, and a Mikov as well as a pic of an original ad for the Zoppis. That particular knife is one of what I call a UH Grail knife. It is along with the LB4 and LB2 extremely rare. This knife is the same pattern as the third gen C627 which was handled in wood and in a stainless handled version . The 707 UH 3rd gen was in staglon and marked 707UH. It along with the LB2...

This issue was contracted by Stuart Taylor ( who bought the IP rights to Schrade in 2003. most of the Taylor Sxhrades were imports made in China . This auto was an exception since it is USA made.
