Re: New 2024 Case patterns: Longhouse & Highbanks

Just learned from the Case Collectors website that these are in fact made in Bradford PA and that these are the first in the Bridgeline, with plans for expansion between their traditional designs and modern EDC's in the future. When that may be, who knows? Also, Bill Ruple was not involved in the de...

Re: SHCC (Shepherd Hills Collectors Club)

I was a member of the Case Collectors Club for several years but dropped out a couple years back. Their forum just wasn't doing it for me for some reason. Thanks centennialknives for your post on the SHCC. I've been contemplating joining that for sometime now. I've always like Sheperd Hills so I thi...

Re: Westline ?

Thanks for the replies. Glad to hear that they're getting out to the dealers. I was worried about the price thinking it a bit steep but, hoping for a quality knife, I pulled the trigger and ordered one from a dealer so I guess I get what I get when I get it. I hope I like it...

Re: Shepherd Hills Exclusive - Sunflower Synthetic complete collection

Very nice looking! I've been considering the Peanut for sometime. I like to buy from Sheperd Hills but I don't care for how they show their knives. They don't use an actual photo so one is often left to a leap of faith or find one on another site to see what it actually looks like. Your pic shows ju...

Re: 2023 Case Vault Release

Another vault release disappointment. It's too bad considering what Case is sitting on, for example, the 31, 35, & 17 patterns, to name but a few. I guess one can't expect too much from a company that locks up the Barlow, an all-time classic. Too much plastic (handles/scales) being used for my t...

Re: Case Classic 1993 Really Worth $500?

If someone is willing to pay $500 for it, then it's worth that to them. That doesn't mean that all knives of that particular make and model are worth that amount, only that one, to that buyer, at that time. It's easy to say that a particular knife is "worth" a particular price because one ...

Re: 2022 Vault Release

I'm not suggesting that any pattern be placed in the vault. I'm suggesting that the Barlow be brought out of the vault and added to the permanent line-up.

Time to let the issue of the Barlow die here. It is what it is. I hadn't intended to hijack this post. Sorry.

Re: 2022 Vault Release

I bought at least a dozen 09's, perhaps a few more, when they were recently released from the vault. [...] Buying a dozen certainly is voting with your wallet. I thought I squandered too much buying five ** 49s. Locally the only stores that stock Case knives for traditional slip joints sell only 44...

Re: 2022 Vault Release

I bought at least a dozen 09's, perhaps a few more, when they were recently released from the vault. I believe that there was a time when the 09 probably didn't sell all that well. I also believe that that issue is in the past. I believe the Barlow would certainly hold its own with the other traditi...

Re: 2022 Vault Release

I'm still trying to get my head around why Case would take the Barlow pattern and lock it up while at the same time keeping patterns such as the various stockmans, muskrats, and trappers standard fare. I argue the Barlow is a classic and an original pattern and should be maintained in the permanent ...

Re: Buck Master 2.0 Combat Series in 2021?

Very interesting indeed. Thank you much for posting this. I must confess however, that I was hoping for something resembling the original 184 a whole lot more than this... I guess we'll see how it comes out. I'll be watching for it.

Thanks again.

The second set of photos depict a LE Buck 119 Special with a Zytel Bayonet handle. 1 of only 28 made.

Re: Have to ask the Buck guys ...

I've never been much of a Buck guy mainly because of the limited side material choices used on their USA traditional folders - seems 99% of the non-custom bucks I see are either wood or plastic sided. I know Buck is known as more of a working man's knife ... but has Buck historically ever done much...

Re: New Pocket Worn releases

I really like the gray bone. Should look pretty cool once the CV blade develop a little patina. Where did you see the gray bone? Was it an actual photo or one of those artist renditions that so many sites like to use and that doesn't show the actual knife? I'm very interested in the gray pocket wor...

Re: Anyone collect “Case Select” knives?

Sharpnshinyknives, I have a few Select Case XX knives. I don't collect them exclusively but I like them. I have a hawkbill identical to yours, I have a couple of Seahorse Whittler Selects, and a couple others that escape me at the moment. The ones you're watching on Ebay are probably priced too high...

Handle Variations on the 119?

I'm looking to find out what handle variations have been used on the 119 Special other than that plain and boring black phenolic? (I sure wish Buck would come up with some other offerings beyond black phenolic. ::td:: How about a black micarta like on the 124 for example) I'm familiar with the white...

Re: Unpopular Opinions

Some good responses here, many of which I 2nd or 3rd or whatever the case may be. My issue is the inability to acquire a knife. This has been discussed and debated endlessly on various knife boards and I have no answers nor do I wish to open that can of worms again. Things are what they are and perh...
