knife7knut,,,,,I traded for this floater a few years back,,your post reminded my feeble mind I had one... double edge,serrated, stainless. never could find anything about it ,,age etc. I think the hole in the handle was for a compass not sure ,,,thought maybe you could enlighten me if it has another...

Thanks for the info on the protective lacquer coating on the 622426,,,,now that I know it left the Robeson factory that way As long as I own it
it will stay the same.. To me it's like etch on a blade,,,, and as you said it's the knife's history. Thank you kj for liking that piece. Tom

Rattlesnake: Just love those old etched pieces...Don't have any etched Hunters or Cokebottles now.. Did pick up a swing guard hunter lock back two months ago at a Gun Show. Pre 1923.. nice scales,some original finish on blade,never etched,tight, Just a good old soul. Just had to rescue it and return...

Picked up a couple Pocketeze jacks this week 622426 Robeson/Shuredge(script)/Rochester,,,,Swell-center jack or curved jack. The clip and pen blades both have a clear protective film. You can feel the film on the blades,,, I tried to show with pics the build up of the protectant on the blade edges......
