Re: Fake business

This is exactly why I don't want anythng to do with Chinese knives. They are con artists to the max. Even the Chinese Queens are using the name of an American brand and fraudulently taking advantage of that to sell junk to unsuspecting buyers. The whole country is fine with copyright infringement, ...

Its not minty but I don't see many others. Still tight and snaps hard on all 4.
Some say its Winterbottom bone, Im not sure if its just worn stag.

What do you all think about this knife? I thought the stamps looked off and the wear on the covers seems uneven with one side looking more worn than the other. Nice knife regardless. https://www.ebay.com/itm/194059903969?_trksid=p2380057.m570.l5999&_trkparms=gh1g%3DI194059903969.N36.S2.typeWATCH...

Yep, some heavy reworking going on with this guy.
I like how he describes a lot of his knives as "never sharpened" yet the blades are short. ::td::

I see some on there now that look …questionable, but some others are interesting.
Im troubled that none of his images allow you to zoom in, and no backs are shown.
Has anyone here actually handled one of his knives?

Re: PAL RH 36 Shrunken leather and Unmarked

Judging by how much that have already I think/hope they are done shrinking.
I did try to compress the stack of washers with the pommel when I marked where I would drill the new hole. They didn't compress much if any.

Re: PAL RH 36 Shrunken leather and Unmarked

After a bit of thinking I decided to dive into this. The pin for the pommel came out with no drama or damage. After I tapped down the washer stack I measured that the total shrinkage was just over .300". Looking at the situation I saw that the tang could be shorted a bit and a new hole for the ...

PAL RH 36 Shrunken leather and Unmarked

Howdy all: Actually have a few questions here. Picked up this old knife, to me without question a common PAL RH 36. First odd thing is there are absolutely no markings on the tang or guard and no evidence there ever was. I've looked with high magnification and Im certain this was never marked. Could...

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?

I've been carrying this for a few weeks now and really love it. Very rarely do I find myself wishing I had a second or different blade on my pocketknife to complete a task, so I’m a fan of single blade knives, especially big ones. This big serpentine jack arrived recently, and I have been pleased w...

Knives may be in for a big comeback. Back in 63/64 when guns became more restricted, knife collecting took off. Just sayin.

Re: New to Remington knives/Knife Collecting

Consider pursuing the old, original knives. The quality of the old knives is superb and far beyond the repros.
I'd personally rather have one nice older example than a handful of the newer stuff.

I thought all knives that had punch blades also had acorn shields.
Is this true?

I like that Schrade Cut with the small clip blade, haven't seen that combination before.
I like having a choice of 2 blade types or sizes, and I find the fine point of clip blades generally more useful.

Single spring Muskrat?

I like double bladed knives that have a single back spring. I guess I like them slimmer and I know it takes more skill to build them that way. I also like nickel-silver liners. The Case Canoe comes pretty close to all this, but I don't care for a spear main blade. I'm wondering, does anyone make a M...

Re: Need Puma White Hunter restored

I hope that's not the case.
Is there a time frame or serial number range that you are aware of where this took place?
I think it was the very late 60s or early 70s when the knife was purchased.
The knife is sentimental, but probably not worth that much trouble.
