Re: Old D S & K knife
I just picked up this old knife and the blades both appear to be quill blades with one side ground flat. My question is if the two blades is an oddity or not. I have seen only a few dozen quill knives but they were all single blades. Chance or a bit unique ?? The blades snap well and the ebony is g...

Very nice Ike .. Jordan has an interesting history being located in St Louis and Sheffield - one thing that sticks in my memory is Jordan did alot of trading with native Americans back in the 1800s when the west was being settled... and he had huge showrooms in St Louis..

Re: new york knife co
I was able to get this swing guard from Charles' collection. Forum members were most helpful in telling me that it was a somewhat rare pattern. This one has been used but there's a very light, small etch under the nail nick and a pattern number on the tang. John Ferguson took this photo for Charles...

Re: Boys Knives Through the Years
Beauty of a knife John ::tu:: ::tu:: ... but imo and my 2 cents - it is not a boys knife but a Washington Jack as you allude to above - the tip bolster is not commonly seen on boys knives of old though a very few exceptions may exist... again John just my opinion after researching these in-depth 4-5...

Thanks all ::tu:: ::handshake:: ... Lee ::tu:: I'm not sure I've seen a jigged bone or stag LF&C either. Roger - The only stag I have seen on an LF&C was on this hunter from approx 1890 (from my understanding) - and this stag is primo in my opinion (Sambar I would say)... they used stag more...

Re: Easy Openers
Old thread I figured I would wake up with this one - bought it many moons ago but noticed I never got any photos so sharing it now.... LF&C Easy Opener - 3 & 5/8" closed - Ebony handles which for LF&C is more the rarity - every old catalog of LF&C clearly showed 2X as many black...

Re: Rodgers and Sons
Couple of better pics of the Horseman's knife plus 2 others I just got. The hawk has flush jointed which is really cool. The 6 bladed knife has nail pulls on both sides that go through the tang except for the nail file blade. No England on this one. Great group Mike ::tu:: ::tu:: ... That double gu...
