Re: Now that auto's are legal in PA ... recommendations ?

Your Wish knives must be getting close. Got the ProTech knock off auto ... it's really amazingly well made. Definitely surpassed expectations. Time will tell if the steel is any good, but definitely satisfied & it's fun to play around with. protech.jpg I also ordered a Benchmade auto and they s...

Re: Ornithology (Bird) Thread

I too was bit by the birdwatching bug a few years ago. My feeder is a bit detached from my house on the shed, so best thing I ever did was to buy a really nice pair of binoculars. Makes the whole endeavor so much more enjoyable. We must have the most portly cardinals in the country here in N/E PA - ...

Re: YOUR USER NAME

I always had an interest in pocket knives, but could NEVER sharpen them well enough - became very frustrated. When I discovered the Lansky system, it opened up a whole world of renewed interest in knives - that was the single most important development that led to my exponentially expanding knife co...

Re: Modern SLINGSHOTS ... who knew ---->

Certainly would not be considered “modern”, but as a kid I often carried a homemade slingshot made from a forked tree limb and either rubber tubing or strips cut from a tire inner tube, with a piece of soft leather for the “pocket” (the tongue from an old lace-up shoe works great for that purpose)....

Re: Modern SLINGSHOTS ... who knew ---->

Looks like fun! I don't have anywhere in my house to shoot them, but I do have some squirrels in my backyard. Where did you get the clay pellets to shoot? The squirrels around here have really been annoying lately, so I bought a cheap copy of a wrist rocket at Harbor Freight. I used to make slingsh...

Modern SLINGSHOTS ... who knew ---->

Hey fellas ... during the pandemic, I was housebound like most everybody else, and was looking for something to do to pass the time. So I stumbled upon the world of slingshots. I used to shoot competitive pistol in my younger days, so something about it sparked my interest. I started out by research...

Re: Maple Syrup time for 2024

THanks for posting - enjoy seeing what goes into making maple syrup that we all enjoy (real deal is sooooo much better than the store bought). Don't see the syrup fair in the pocono's like we used to ... always enjoyed that when I was a kid.

Re: Now that auto's are legal in PA ... recommendations ?

Sideline question … i recall reading a lot about the Ganzo auto’s that were super popular a few years ago (before auto’s became legal in PA), so I never looked into them. Now doing an internet search, they still make knives, but no more auto’s from what I can tell. Maybe this is old news, but what h...

Re: Now that auto's are legal in PA ... recommendations ?

I doubt that the fact your knives are clones, John, will affect their eligibility with Customs, and I seriously doubt there are very many Customs agents who would actually know the difference anyway, so you should be good. I base my statement on the fact that your avatar says "Pennsyltucky, wh...

Which ones did you buy?. I bought a Microtech last after watching that guy pound it through a 2x4. It seem great and sharp. I’m not going to use it for wood working anyway. The only beef I had with two of their vendors is they don’t always send the exact one you buy. The one they send is good but GE...

Boker AK-47! ::nod:: You can find them in many online stores, but do some shopping cuz the price can fluctuate by as much as $20. from store to store. US$50. - $60. is a good price! Or, as Smitty suggested, for something more exotic, www.Dhgate.com / www.Wish.com / www.AliExpress.com , but be prepa...

I just learned auto's are legal in PA ... so I'd like to dip my toes. Any recommendations on imports in the $50 or so range that are respectable and would be good to get me started ?

Re: Ode To The 07

I have never seen scissors on a 07. But now that you've kicked The Monkey's overactive imagination into overdrive... The blade I would like to see on a mini trapper is a nice slender even-width spear. I think that would look great on a single blade _107, or on a _207W if combined with one of Lansky...
