Something not seen to often, a fixed blade Schatt from PA ! IMG_2949.jpg I believe it's called an Outer's pattern. Dave Nice knife. Is that a braid of sweetgrass? Yes it is! I've used it in a few different times. It goes along with the other items from the "Fur Trade Era" IMG_2934.jpg IMG...

Re: Who's into S & M?
One of my Favorite patterns that Queen made is the Swaybelly Trapper. I have most of the cover options but the F&W is my preferred because of the ATS-34 blade steel. This pattern just feels good in hand!

Re: Gowanda N.Y. Shatt & Morgan's
Thank You Men! Here's a splitback equal end Gowanda Schatt . This knife has seen a lot of use and a lot of love during it's life. Brown bone that has been completely worn smooth on the mark and just barely left a little jigging pattern on the pile. This old knife has spent many a year in someones po...

A small 3 1/4" Jack, all steel with Cocobolo covers I believe.

The NY stamp seems to be getting harder to come by so if the knife looks original (or minimal repairs) and has a readable stamp, I've been picking them up.Dave

Re: pricing from older sales catalog
All of the Annual Reproduction Series or Keystone Series knives were made with 600 each. With the exception of the first year 1991, nobody knows how many were made that year.

Re: GEC Auctions of Note
Granted I haven’t personally seen one of these before so I know it’s a bit rare, but still over 1000 dollars for a production knife that originally costs probably around 100 dollars? I can’t figure out how people think or justify that amount. Surprisingly this knife is not even close to rare or eve...

You have very good friends Madmarco's!
That pattern is certainly a handful!
It is a modern S&M made under Queen as a-posed to an original S&M ....... but I don't think anyone will really mind it's inclusion here.
Thanks for posting!

Re: John W. Schatt Piercing Tool (Punch)
This Ebony covered Jack recently showed up on the inter-tubes and I was lucky enough to acquire it. But she has had a pretty tough life, as most of them I'm sure have. The blade is about half gone and both blade and punch are tipped but these don't surface to often so I though I'd give her...

John W. Schatt Piercing Tool (Punch)
In December of 1907 John Schatt applied for a patent for his leather punch and it was granted in June of the next year. Smaller single blade, well used but not abused jack. My guess is that it was a spear point, still nice brown bone. 3 1/4" closed
