Handle work needed
I picked up a Camillus Coast Guard knife pretty cheep the other day (the one with the can opener). It looks like the scales have shrunk and are pretty roached out. I'm thinking of re-handling it, maybe in a OD or tan linen macarta. I was thinking of doing it myself but might just be quicker and easi...

Rough Rider Cotton Sampler
If this post is in the wrong column please feel free to move it. Rough Rider Cotton Sampler review: I received my first (and probably only) Rough Rider yesterday. I've really wanted a Cotton Sampler for some time ( I grew up in the Memphis area so anything cotton has some nostalgia to it for me), bu...

Welcome from another new guy!
I haven't seen that one before...I liked it so much I went over to Tractor Supply to see what they had. Unfortunately closed today for Easter!

Re: Who EDC's rare or vintage pocketknives?
Not sure how vintage it is but my EDC is a Camillus camp knife. It has most everything I need...can opener for making a spit cup out of a coke can, bottle cap lifter, and a nice blade.

Re: Case & Sons Tang Stamp
I am not one to take much time analyzing tang stamps and normally if a knife is fake there are other indicators that will show before examining the stamp. From looking at the picture you provided: I would not expect to see that type of bolster on an old Case knife with any type of tang stamp. The l...

Re: Case & Sons Tang Stamp
Terrible fake IMO. Walk me thru your thinking on this one... I'd like to hear your thoughts. It is a current auction, eBay item number: 232292020596 I found a Case & Sons tang stamp that looked similar, but the real stamp didn't have a comma behind the Bradford nor was the Bradford somewhat ind...

Re: Trying to watch out for shady/counterfeit knives
BBley, Welcome to AAPK. I too am not fond of knives that have been aggressively buffed and cleaned. It makes it very hard for me to determine what else has or hasn't been done to the knife. IMO it destroys the honesty of the knife. Surfing the counterfeit forum you will see there are a few eBay sel...

Trying to watch out for shady/counterfeit knives
Question for collectors...I've seen a number of older knives on ebay lately that looked like the entire knife has been buffed or polished to a super high shine...blades, scale material, bolsters, everything. The photos do not show very good photos of the blade stamps, but when they do the stamp appe...

Re: Perfect Dream Knife for Your EDC
My dream EDC would be a congress pattern. I love the congress pattern. It would have two identical sheep foot blades and a pen blade and a coping blade. It would have gnarly stag handles. It would have half stops on every blade. The blades would be carbon steel and they would take and hold an edge ...

Perfect Dream Knife for Your EDC
Here's a spin on a topic question....
If you could conjure up the perfect EDC knife for yourself, what would you want?
Mine would be a 4.5-5 inch (closed) jack knife. Two blade 1) spear point, 2) bottle opener/Flathead. Nickel chrome bolsters on both ends. Finished in a dark jigged bone.

New to Collecting Looking for Some Thoughts
Hello everyone, I'm pretty new to collecting pocket knives. I'm in law enforcement (24 years) and have grown somewhat weary of the tactical scene. I have more tacti-cool fixed blades than anyone with any common sense should have ever purchased. Here's what I like now and what I would appreciate some...
