Re: LB8 - Were any of the LB8 knives mad in the US?
I had posted before that I had purchased a USA Schrade LB7 with a serial number. I had intended to keep it, but at a gunshow last month I ran into an old friend and ended up giving it to him. A week or so later, I was looking in a pawn shop and ran across an LB8 Uncle Henry and while it didn't have...

Re: Iroquois
I picked up this Iroquois tear drop jack recently at a gun show. It is 3 and 3/8 inches OAL, has half stops on both blades, and is handled in what appears to be candy stripe celluloid. It has a different tang stamp than my other Iroquois in that it is circled and says Utica NY. It also has the numb...

That's true that the city has been there for a long time. But there are products that were marked USA and only USA that came out of Japan after World War II. You have to realize also that you can't believe everything you read online. Anyone can put anything they want on wikipedia. It's not like it'...

Re: 1976 Buck 112
Here's a pic of the 112 folder I bought way back in '76, it's seen a lot of use. Back in 2019 I took it to the NRA convention and showed it to the Buck reps at their booth. One of the Bucks signed it, (his name escapes me now) if you look hard you can see the autograph.Buck 112 folder.JPG This was ...

Re: Pocket knife jargon questions?
Another thing to consider is leverage, that is how far from the pivot point is your thumb nail when opening the blade. Some knives have small nail nicks and some use the longer full length pull. That will at least partially explain why some can and bottle opener blades are nail busters.

Ray, for several weeks I have been looking for a snubbie with hammer for daily carry. You found it. But I am inspired to keep looking. Beside hammer and hammerless, there is another option like this 638-3, 38 Spl +P. It is the best of both worlds, has a hammer for those of us that want one, but the...

Anyone know what this medallion represents? It is copper or bronze, about 2 inches in diameter, and weighs about 1 and 1/4 oz. The back is flat and has no markings on it. Does the insignia have some religious meaning?

For those of you who carry a snub 38, I have tried these factory loads in my S & W Airweight and they shoot very well. From left, Hornady Critical Defense Lite which is a 90gr high velocity load (not +P) with less recoil, Hornady Critical Defense +P 110gr, and Federal Punch +P 120gr HP. As you c...

by Rockingkj » Sun Mar 03, 2024 1:10 am When buying a knife I prefer the seller to set the price. Too much, I can smile and politely pass. Then you are missing out on some deals by not making a counter offer. I have bought a lot of things from people who honestly don't know how much their item is wo...

I redid this very similar one a few years back for my brother in law. This one did have a lanyard hole, but no tube. I got new blades from Dale and it turned out great.

Joe, are both of yours 2 speed? Yes, the Goodell Pratt has a button that has Slow or Fast on the cap. The button is pressed in to engage or pulled out to disengage. I haven't spent enough time with it to fully understand the mechanics of it. I'll get better pictures of that tomorrow. The Dunlap is ...
