I like sticking small blades into large onions. Leave in a day or 2. This onion had a double center. It gives you the same pattern on both sides. Giving the allusion it goes all the way through

I’ve also heard the story about them chopping through lines with a belaying pin on the rail. I also had my doubts. But I can see it happening in an emergency.
