Re: Insect Bites
No fiber glass . Just the pine trees and brush pile. My friend won't come to my house. He thinks bugs will get him. Yes I have been itching for a long time. The dermatologist would have to get my arm under a microscope to see the dots. I'll try to get her to look at them again when I go back in July...

Re: Insect Bites
My wrists are itchy so I took my pocket knife's sheep foot blade . Honed it razor sharp. Got a huge magnifier and sat at the table and scraped away the lumpy dead flesh. Could see a small black dot. So I dug around carefully and got a small black rod out. Smaller than a hair and not very long. Did a...

Re: Insect Bites
That small? I probably won't be able to see them unless they go into the soapy water. I just looked at the water but could not see any thing in the water so far. I'll leave the light on and let you know if I do get something in the water. I was given a Woolrich coat from my brother last September. N...

Re: Insect Bites
It's fairly easy to determine whether your home has a flea infestation, by making a simple flea trap. Get a small container, like a Tupperware bowl or cool whip container, remove the lid. Fill it near full with water. Add one drop of liquid dish soap (put the soap in last, so it doesn't make suds)....

Re: Insect Bites
Thanks again for all the posts. I tried the prescription hydrocortisone and neosporin But they only took away the redness for awhile. The dermatologist prescribed a cream that remove the redness and some of the itching. She wants to see me in 3 weeks to check up on the condition Both the neosporin a...

::dang:: I typed a very long reply and bumped something and it went away. Oh well, My friend came and looked at the rash, bites, whatever they are and said I do not have scabies but looked ill. Yellow skin with small bite marks. He said I need to go to a doctor again. I doubt I'll go again. This als...

Have not been out of the house since last Thursday. No motels or other houses. Just the 20 to 30 diameter by 6 foot high brush pile out back last Thursday. We had 2 inches of snow on everything and the day was very cold. I poured a cup or two of gas onto the edge of the brush pile and lit it. It wou...

Re: Insect Bites
No medicines taken. Searched the different sites for scabies. The only thing chiggers and scaboes have in common is the itching. I have no rash just small red dots and itching. Nothing like the scabies photos on the web to make me think this is scabies. But I will ask my doctor about it and see what...

Re: Insect Bites
The MedicineNet and the other sites all say the chigger makes a funnel hole and kills the flesh and eats that. When it is full , it drops off and the funnel hole with the fluid the chigger leaves causes the itch. I put some clear finger nail polish on my skin and it does have a cooling effect. Maybe...

Re: Insect Bites
Thanks for all the info. I did go online to different health sites for info but from what I could understand, the larva or redbugs were not a problem but I wondered where they went after the bites. I thought maybe the larva were inside the bites eating me? The articles did say the chiggers them selv...

Insect Bites
Has anyone gotten bitten by chiggers? I think I got a lot of bites from those insects? Went to the doctor and had a blood test and no results so far. Been putting Benedryl cream all over myself. The itching is the worst I have ever felt. Just wondered if anyone had this problem and what did you do f...

Very nice. Useful too. I have a piece of maple that would make a nice spoon. I have some very old wooden spoons my Grandmother had and use them a lot. They don't scratch teflon or any other surfaces and won't ding a pan when the lady of the house hammers it on the rim of the pan. I put vegetable oil...

I have several of them. I like mine . I can get a razor sharp edge on all of them. No problems cutting heavy cardboard or whittling a hard piece of wood. I could not afford the different patterns from a company in the USA. There are a lot of things that are made in foreign countries. My friend gave ...

Re: Rotator cuff operation
I went to the orthopedic surgeon on Tuesday. He examined me and said "poor range of motion" and to go to PT again. I've been there nine times so far. The two PT girls worked on my shoulder. It really hurt..lol. They made me do more exercises and use more machines. They are getting the shou...
