Re: SHOW YOUR NEW (TO YOU) ROBESON
Hi! I know this isn't a folding knife, but it's a Robeson and seems to be pretty hard to find. I got this in a lot of vintage butcher knives and it was so clean I just stuck it straight in a drawer. Lately I've had lots of business for cooking knives and the like, I thought I'd do some research. Aft...

Hi! I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but I thought I'd put this out here! I have a pretty big collection of keen kutter, shapeleighs and ec Simmons knives... I am originally from St. Louis and have family ties to these names. I have these 2 easy open Jack's I thought may be o...

Re: Edwards Sons & Co. Half Whittler
Nope, no USA. I thought this was a German knife from the second I saw it. I'm no expert, but I've seen a few knives in my years collecting, buying/selling etc. I did see in Goins the listing for USA, but I just can't picture it without the USA stamp. It will remain a mystery for now. It came from a ...

Of course a pic would be handy, duh lol! I had hoped one of the members might still be around and have a quick answer, but I like to add to the community by doing more than just finding and selling these old treasures. So, here she goes! I'm no photographer, but my knives sell, so I must do ok. I hop...

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Hi all! I have too many fixed blades in my collection to post at once, but here is one that is puzzling me right now. This E.C. Simmons Keen Kutter fixed blade is pre 1940... that's about all I know lol. It's not the prettiest knife, but the etch is still beautiful! It is surprisingly comfortable an...

Re: Edwards Sons & Co. Half Whittler
Hi! I hate to revive a 9 year dead thread, but it has info totally relevant to my current research... I hope no one minds. This knife was made by Boker? I have a knife with the "Edwards &sons co germany" tang stamp and have been hunting for a month with no luck, other than a few others...

Re: 2 weird ones ... Edwards Sons & Co, Imperial
I have an Edwards Sons & co knife as well. Boy, not much info out there at all! I don't usually have such a time with identifying a blade. Mine is very similar with 2 blades and MOP handle as well as the exact tang stamp, though harder to read than the OP. The knife just feels/looks OLD(pre 1900...

Thanks guys, I'm still carrying it everyday! @WB how do you identify these as cow horn... I'm not doubting you, I just want to know how haha? I would love to know it is a natural material as I am a wood hunter, and use natural wood almost exclusively in my knives. I have nothing against modern mater...

Casafont Solsona Navaja made in Spain info?
Hey guys! I recently picked up an interesting knife at a yardsale and after lots of research have come up pretty short lol. I know this knife is old, how old is a mystery. Searching the web led me to believe Casafont started in 1945 with only one major competitor and eventually stopped making knives...

Re: Did Marbles ever produce a knife with the stacked leather handle and a leather guard as well?I
Here is the buttcap. Looking at it more, I feel this knife is actually missing whatever gaurd it had. I believe there had to be some type of metal up there with all the room between the blade and handle. I want to say it's homemade, but I haven't seen any hobbyist knives like this, it's very well ma...

Re: Did Marbles ever produce a knife with the stacked leather handle and a leather guard as well?I
I have not soaked the handle in oil by the way. It was dry, but not cracked or terribly shrunk. So I just rub some neatafoot oil on in the evenings, let it soak in overnight and put on another coat the next day. The leather is just about ready for it's final rub with lanolin and a good polishing bef...

Did Marbles ever produce a knife with the stacked leather handle and a leather guard as well?I
I have an old knife that I bought on eBay. It was cheap, old and cool... those are my 3 factors when buying lol. I have some trouble uploading a pic to this site sometimes, hopefully these come through.Anyway, there are plenty of factors that any Marbles guy would probably know pretty quick. First, ...

Re: NEEDS HELP WITH DATING MARBLES HUNTING KNIFE MAKER MARKS
Sorry to hijack the thread but @stag man would this appear to be an early Marbles knife? There are no markings that I can find, but I was told this was a Marbles "style" knife, for $10 I couldn't pass it up. I don't know if the marks are gone or were never there. The stacked leather handle...

I hate to resurrect such a long dead thread but this could answer my question in a heartbeat. I posted a tang stamp and was pointed to the Ideal knife co. After googling, this was the first result. The stamp is basically gone, but surprisingly the knife is in decent shape. It has super thin cracked ...

Info on knife tang stamp. Just not knowledgeable enough to guess. Macro pics attached
Hey guys! I got this in another small knife lot I bought today and I can't guess what the tang stamp says. Definitely USA and a maker etc. Any guesses? The blade and knife overall are in the good condition so I imagine it's not too old. It is one of the worst tourist type knives I've seen, paper thin...
