Re: No date on Buck 503?

I agree the dot indicates a transition, with other models the dot can indicate a number of different transitions just depends on the knife! I have to many examples to list.

Re: Buck 500 series

Hi OleBuck, thanks for the reply! Since the time I asked about that knife I've become a member of Buck collectors club, Tony at Buck history urged me to and I'm glad I did, such a wealth of great info. Just recently I acquired a 503-SS2 red stone that's in the same catalog as the 505 malachite also ...

Re: national blade knives?

I just acquired a National Blade with Siren etched on the blade and scrimshaw bone handle, a very nice looking knife. At first sight I figured that it was a Parker, despite what people say about Parker I have 6 different patterns all are bone 4 different names on the tang and I like them! At least t...

Re: Whats your newest addition to your Buck family and why?

Hello All, I just received a 2000 Buck 505 Malachite without the box so I don't know if it's a 505-SS4-0 or a 505-JCP3-0, does anyone know how many where made? It's a beautiful knife it'll look great next to my 505-JCP1-0! I'm thoroughly addicted to the 500 series. Thanks. Butch

Re: Key shaped knife

From your description it may be an advertising knife or a "gentleman's knife" with gold plated handles. Degen could be the knife's maker, but not one I've ever heard of. W. Germany would be the country of origin (and provide a timeframe when it was made). Do you have a picture of the knif...
