Re: Case Tested without shield or model number
I’ve posted this knife to ebay. Considering it’s an unusual knife I figured some Cass collected would probably be interested. Link in my profile.

Re: Case Tested without shield or model number
Thanks knifaholic. I only see one other example of these when I search for it so scarce indeed. Would y’all consider this green bone? I’m not sure I understand the distinction between green and red bone.
edit: after a deep dive I have a better understanding of the use of the terms.

Re: Case Tested without shield or model number
As expected y’all are a wealth of information. Red rider: sure looks like a 6347. The knife is 3 and 3/16 inches closed Olderdog: the bolsters do appear to be iron. Woodwalker: this is definitely an above average find at the flea market. I also picked up another great knife so today was a good haul....

Case Tested without shield or model number
I just picked up a Case Tested stockman at the flea market And it doesn’t have a shield or model number. It was only $15 and has years worth of grime so I don’t think the seller was trying to pull a fast one. Any thoughts about authenticity from the case experts here? EFEF3BED-5F8E-4ED3-9338-6E60190...

Re: POS Roundtable 2020
I may be late to the potty but I’ve got a big old pile to share. Broken blades, missing blades, cracked scales, oh my! A87B47FB-7D9B-4F3C-B52A-F8097B9831BD.jpeg There were a few pieces of corn in with the mess, a Camillus Barlow, a PAL that has had the main blade reworked and an unnamed two blade th...

Re: POS Roundtable 2020
These two are part of what Bfeldman sent and I can't seem to get around to putting them away. They lay here on my desk and I find myself constantly "coon fingering" them, especially the Colonial Fish Knife. I'm constantly opening the blades just to hear them SNAP closed. Somebody call a d...

Re: POS Roundtable 2020
My favorite is the Alox 93mm Soldier - 1961 Design. A little Quick Release on the joints and I can't find a single thing wrong with it. Great snap and no blemishes. It's like it came out of the factory yesterday. I am thrilled with it. Thank you Bfeldman. Thank you very much!! BTW, did I ever tell ...

Re: Baker Hamilton & Pacific Co.
Today I came across a Baker, Hamilton & Pacific Company, General Catalog No 7. It looks to be published in 1920 or maybe a little earlier. It included a few of the knives posted here. That is a great looking catalog! Thank you for posting the picture of the 3451. ::handshake:: Sure thing. I’d b...

Ken-Yeah, it’s a Schmidt and Ziegler. I should have posted that stamp as well but it’s a little hard to make out. Sweet little knife. As for that North American, I don’t have any insight but it’s a beautiful knife.

Re: Favorite Tang Stamps
I suppose my favorite oddity tang stamp is this Ulster NKIFE stamp. It's not the only one I have seen like this. I don't know the explanation for these, perhaps someone with dyslexia cut the stamp used here, or perhaps a recent immigrant to the U.S. who was struggling spelling English as a second l...

The otter alone makes me want one It is such a wonderful knife and the knife I carry with me most days. It’s slim, has a good sized blade, beer bottle opener. I misplaced it for a bit and went looking for a replacement but I couldn’t find one anywhere. Luckily it turned up again. Felt like Christma...

Favorite Tang Stamps
Tang stamps are one of my favorite parts about knives. I love how stamps or other makers marks to help us identify and date our knives. And some stamps are works of art in their own right. I’ve searched the forums and haven’t found a thread of favorite stamps, so post them here. I’ll start with one ...
