Re: Questions about Schrade Folding Hunters

I take knives apart and put em back together daily. I never get too technical with .002 or what ever. If it fits it fits. I have to turn down pins all the time but only measure by it fitting The hole I am trying to fill I never break out the calipers and measure.

Re: Ulster repair help

I usually use a dremel and burr the top of the pin off then take a small nail set and knock it through. The pin is probably a 5/64” or 3/32”.

Beauty now BIGHEAD. Looks fabulous. Do you dye the antler to get that color or do you buy it like that? Nice work all around. ::tu::

A weak point for what? Batoning a steel pole? Before you go through all that trouble why don't you try to see if you can make the pin fail in one of those knives? I'd think some other part of the knife would fail before the pin which would negate making the pin more robust. Of course if you just wa...

Re: Modify a folding knife to use a bigger diameter pivot pin

I'm wondering what kind of knife this is? As already mentioned above, .2"is already quite large for a folding knife. I rarely need to use a pin size over 1/8" (.125). In fact, the only times I can remember needing a pin over 1/8" is for those Colonial and United WW2 pilot's survival ...
