Re: SHOW US YOUR PETS!!!

Beautiful dogs in repose. Took a few shots of Moki. The first one was this morning while he was carrying a big rock around. Never seen a dog more entertained by rocks than he is. The second shot was him on the day of the eclipse again with the same rock. And the last one is him and Girl Scout sharin...

Re: The Amateur Astronomy Page

Here are some more pictures. These my son took with his equipment. You can see the solar flares. Some are not in order, as you can tell from the sequence. Some great photos of the eclipse. Do you have any info on the equipment used? Took me a little bit to get the information. Here it is: “I was us...

Re: Comfort Knives!

That Boker is a beauty Mark. I think very highly of Boker Plus and Magnum. They make some very high quality pieces for a very reasonable amount of money.

Re: Scrimshaw artist MW?

Hey John, I spent hours and hours trying to figure out the artist on these with no luck. I checked every data base on scrimshaw artiest I could find and no luck. I even checked with Gary Harbor a famous scrimshaw artist I used on my Case knives but he didn’t know either. I doubt we will ever figure ...

Re: The Amateur Astronomy Page

Thank you, I give all the credit to my son. He has some amazing equipment. He is a semi pro photographer. I say semi because he doesn’t do this full time, he did have a photography business, but his job at Raytheon keeps him busy. So he had all the right filters, etc. He has a good eye for taking ph...

Re: The Amateur Astronomy Page

Here are a few pictures from today, not the best, still arranging to get my sons downloaded. The last one shows how dark it got, pretty much what it looks like around here right after the sun goes down, except this is a photo facing south and it’s never that light in the south at dusk, this is what ...

Re: The Amateur Astronomy Page

Will post some pictures later. My son has a pretty expensive set up and got some amazing shots. The most amazing part was at totality when you could see solar flares, even got them with color and you can see the magnetic waves. Pretty amazing. Didn’t see a lot of birds coming in to roost. I think th...

Re: The Amateur Astronomy Page

We are directly in the path of totality. Every one is going nuts. It’s all the news casters can talk about. I’ve seen some country churches advertising parking spaces for 50 dollars. Everyone is trying to make a buck off of this. So far it’s clear here in east central Indiana. I will try to post so...

Re: Other Seki Made

That looks like a great knife to use. I like that button lock release. I saw that on a knife I had many years ago, can’t remember the brand, I’m thinking it was a Parker, CI or Valor, but not sure. It’s a smart idea. That would keep your fingers out of the path of the closing blade, unlike many line...

Re: Close Encounter With Evil

Great story and testimony from your life LJ. We have no idea what God’s plan is and why he spares us something’s and allows other things to happen. If we could only see all that He sees from the beginning to the end in our lives, we would know why, but that won’t be revealed to us until after we lea...

Re: Comfort Knives!

Haven’t posted on this thread in quite awhile. I got this one out of the display case today just to admire. It’s a custom made knife by Joel Chamblin that I bought off of Roland Procter a few years back. The pearl on this is some of the finest I’ve ever seen. The bar shield and pins are 24kt gold. ...

How does a small amount of wobble affect performance?

This is probably a dumb question but it’s been bugging me for some time. How does a small amount of wobble affect a blades performance. Not talking about a blade that is loose and obviously moves side to side, I’ve only ever seen that on some pretty trashed knives. Rather, you have to grasp a blade ...

Nice knives Tony. The tear drop pattern really appeals. Iman, I’m with you on the hiding country of origin, in violation of the law, the COO is suppose to be on products. I find it odd the Esynx would do that. They have a great reputation and great knives. I only own a couple but they were made in ...

Re: Other Seki Made

Finally got a knife I’ve had my eye on for many years. Designed by Koji Hara and made by G Sakai. This same knife comes in gold lip pearl as well. I love the way the blade contours follow the bamboo design of the handles. The pearl is beautiful on this and the inlay work between the nickel silver is...

Very nice Vit, I have that one also with gold lip pearl where the wooden handles are on yours. Such well made knives and very under appreciated.
