John, I like to think of it as practical collecting. I have about 300 pairs of cufflinks and I've worn them all.

I was 7 years old, 43 years ago, when my uncle, Tio Joaquin, gave me my first pocket knife. It was a trapper style single blade in blue shiny scales with a strange lock release on the pivot bolster. (Omg that was a flashback) I carried that everywhere and when I turned 10 I was allowed pocket money ...

The handles seem to be some sort of delrin???

There appears to be a slight grain like pattern in each scale maybe a thermoplastic of some sorts IDK ...

The only stamp on it is "Sheffield made" - no other markings. I did find another on Etsy stamped John Milner - exact same knife only not as clean.

Any ideas???

Thank you Dale, It does have 865 stamped on the main blade. I have always used the double groove on the back of a nail file as you described. I always thought that to be their use. I too think this was a give away perhaps at a convention as these technicians were tested every year and this is a 4 ye...
