That is a nice knife, but I don't think that the value was high enough to worry over. I buy old and broken knives to repair, just because I like learning to do the repairs. Thank you all for your kind replies...and honestly though it works perfect now..I kinda wish I hadn't fixed it...I do both enjoy fixing things and appreciating history..and there are plenty of cheap dime a dozen ones I can save...and honestly..it wasn't like I needed to work. Thank you! It was a rough ryder buckshot bone teardrop ..I softened and blended all the edges, dyed the bone enhanced the jigging added the easy opener ground the shield flush and fully buffed it, and sharpened it to a wicked edge..they really are pretty well made knives..if you can get by the China...

Found sailing the bay...she arrived post yesterday, got her all cleaned up ..great knife sabre cut clip blade, unusual nail nick placement great snap no wobble..and nice celluloid..i can't find a lot on utica stamps other than Kutmaster was added to stamp post 1937.My guess this ones post ww2 late 4...

Camillus rope knife

Hey guys, picked this up cheap off the bay...a four line camillus rope knife..I know they used these in ww 2 and before...but I see some that people identify as ww1 are they mis-informed or did they go back that far in this pattern..or did they use something else...I'm usually about 60/ 40 on patina...

Hardenburg was likely a wholesaler or maybe just a customer of Peres. That pattern was usually handled in aluminum as a commemorative. Here are three of them. All I can find on this diminutive knife is Mr. Hardenburg had a novelty co. By the same name in Brooklyn new york from 1800s to 1920..when he moved it to lindon New Jersey..so I'm assuming this knife is before the 1920s move..IT is made well , good snap ..brass liners .celluloid( French) ivory ..sma...
