Nice catch Barry, both are quite uncommon ("unusual" has already been used several times) and very cool !

Re: Fury Seki Button Linerlock
Interesting and, I assume, a somewhat rare knife. The only other one that I remember seeing with a shield that operates as a blade release is the famous Case Sidewinder knife.

Re: 2024 POS Exchange
There should have been another package in there. Hope you didn't incinerate the box yet! And that sword is an actual Case blade if you can believe it. Also... I was wondering where I misplaced that purple thing 👀👀 Glad you said something, dug deeper and found these treasures!A231F3B1-4CA1-4BC5-BAE9...

Re: How does a small amount of wobble affect performance?
I use a smallish flat-faced hammer for the pivot (bolster) pins because you are trying to swell out the end of the pin (think of a tulip shape), which locks the ends of the pins in place in the bolster. I use the ball end of a ball-peen hammer when I want roll the edges of the end of a pin to create...

Re: 2024 POS Exchange
I received my POS package/load from the North Pole yesterday! Seriously, it did come from North Pole, Alaska. No, there wasn't any walrus blubber in the box, but this load of POS is a nice, diverse group, with a few that will make fine users. I realized after I took some pictures that I accidentally...

Re: How does a small amount of wobble affect performance?
In reality, deep down, I don't think a small amount of wobble affects performance at all. But, knowing it's there bothers some people, like me. So, I do my best to eliminate any wobble in the knives come into my possession or knives that I do any work on for friends. I am curious what you do to eli...

WD40. It dissolves or at least loosens up just about anything that could be accumulated in a pocket knife.

Ebay would be a better place if all the knife sellers were as honest as him! I have bought from him before ebay existed, and continue to respect his honesty to this day. .....Farts out I have purchased numerous knives from George (itsakiller) over the years and everything has been nothing but top n...

You might want to ask the experts and put this one on the counterfeit forum. Doesn't look like Case jigging to me and I have concerns over the tang stamp and the tang itself.

Re: What's Wrong With This Picture
I've actually seen a handle modification like that before, but not a pull "embellishment" like that. Perhaps that knife must have belonged to someone with really fat fingers?

Re: Unusual German knife construction
It looks to me like this old knife has seen a lot of action and a lot tinkering. From your second picture it is clear that the liners are severely bent. I'm thinking that the bone handle scales have been replaced because of the large gaps between the scales and the bolsters, and because I don't see ...

Re: CASE TESTED Stag Drs knife????
I'm no expert, but I have my doubts about this knife too. I don't think the pattern 85 doctor's knife was ever handled in stag (but I'm not 100% sure) and I have concerns about the tang stamp. On both tangs the letter C is touching the A and none of my Case tested knives look like that and I think t...

Q, I think I can clearly see the pivot pin head when I expand your pictures (dead center in the bolster in your first picture). I'm guessing that it was never peened properly to begin with and needs to be replaced. But, as Dale said, I would would need to see the knife. Lana 'iʻo ka manaʻo!
