Re: CaseXX 640054R rescale

Blanks are cut out. Tomorrow I will remove the shield and mounting rivets for the scales. I plan on making the center pin for the springs and shortening them so maybe the are 1/32 proud. I will use them as a punch to mark the scales. After marking I will drill the center hole in the scales. Then set...

Re: CaseXX 640054R rescale

The blade and tools are actually in pretty good shape. I removed all of the remaining scales. Then ran it through my ultrasonic cleaner. I did 3 3 minute cycles. It got most of the grime out. All open and close nice with good snap. I have done half a dozen rebuilds on knives so far. I am going to at...

CaseXX 640054R rescale

I can’t believe it has been over a year since I have posted here. I tend to drift between hobbies. Knives and safety razors. Anyhow, I was able to go out scrounging today. I found this sorry looking CaseXX for $5. As I am partial to Camping knives. I had to save it.

Re: Newest Case Pick-Ups

Found this sorry looking CaseXX 640045R at the swap meet today for $5. Good snap and no real abuse on any blade or tool. I believe this is from 1965-1969. I do not have a Case for my Camp knife collection. Only have 12 so it is quite small. Anyhow it will be a nice restoration project. Nice find! :...

Great job. I like when people turn these knives into single blades. Or grind the screwdriver into a blade. I have 2 sitting around. You may have given me the information to do one of them for my next project.

I can’t wait to see your next project.

I do no social media. They are all geared to track everything you do. It will end up in all sorts of people’s hands including the government. Not a good thing in my opinion.

Don't, that's usually the best course of action when you want to retain an etch.
Thanks. I will leave it alone.

Re: Remington redo

The main blade is 95% full. Secondary blade is 85% almost all wear at tip. The file is fine. All three blades are stained almost like they were Blued at some point.

I may have to see how blueing would look contrasted to MOP.

Re: Anyone use these Case Arkansas Stones?

I do not have the Case stone kit. I do however use Arkansas stones to sharpen my knives. I love them. I say give them a whirl. If you don’t want the mess of the oil, may I suggest regular old water with some Dawn dish soap just a few drops in a 4 oz container of water . It works fantastically and ju...

What he is doing if he did that way to get positive feedback and sales to seem legit. In order to fool people.

Re: Crazy Camillus Cub Scout

Looking at this listing and his other listings, all his asking prices look ridiculous to me. However his items sell. Does this indicate that there is 'niche' market of ebay buyers who have money but but no sense ? Listing odd items for very high prices might be a way to bring in a significant amoun...

Re: My stone collection

You have plenty of stones to get a fine edge on your knives. Like others have stated that King is a great to to get an edge. I think I see an Arkansas stone too The white and grey one. Depending that can give a great finish for your knives. I have been using water mixed with a bit of Dawn dish soap ...

Here is my one and only Wharncliffe. A Cattaraugus that I just finished rehabbing. It had bone scales put on at some point. I put the MOP back to the way it was originally.
