Ideas on S.Nessel Solingen knife?

I bought this one off Ebay, but I can't find out anything about who made it or when it was made.
I found another one on Ebay and two more on Worthpoint that are the same model and also with bone handles.
I suspect this was a one off contract job.
Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Blade Show June 3-5 2022

I thought I would offer my impressions from my first Blade Show (Friday): The Good: 1. There was lots to see, and I was impressed by the booths from so many companies. 2. Everyone at the booths and tables were friendly and helpful. 3. If you are into custom knives, fixed blade and folders, you were ...

I couldn't pass up this old warhorse. Main blade used up, but profiled into a wharnie. Sharpened up razor sharp in no time. Going into the EDC rotation.

Re: Using collectible knives

I agree with most people here, it's a personal decision. I have a handful of knives that I rotate as by EDC, and my rule is if I need a knife and it's in my pocket, it will be used/abused. So, I tend to not carry expensive unused knives. I also agree that it's a waste to just put up a beautiful new ...

Duisy Steel knife

I just bought this one and haven't received it yet. It's marked Duisy Steel (Solingen), and I've never heard of it. It looks like a pretty well made knife. I've been able to find a couple doing internet searches, but they are both shadow pens, sort of like E. Bruckmann knives. I've seen a few straig...

What the heck....

This is a weird one to me. I've never seen handles with "Eye Brand" burnished into them. I've never seen this Eye Brand pattern. I've never seen these blade stampings on an Eye Brand. But it doesn't seem to be cobbled together either. Ideas? https://www.ebay.com/itm/175128371287?hash=item2...

H Dorwal Reproduction??

Has anyone heard of an H.Dorwal reproduction? I just bought a knife and it has the inked "Germany" on the pile side of the clip blade. I think the seller intentionally made this hard to see on the only pic of the back side of the knife. I have several of the 1990s Parker/Olbertz knives (Ho...

Re: Odd tang stamp on Robt Klaas knife

I think that they could be golf clubs. Good catch! ::ds::
Now maybe I can put the knife away.
Up until now it has been on my dresser with a magnifier beside it.
Ever so often, I pick it up and take another look. ::shrug::
Thanks for the help!

Odd tang stamp on Robt Klaas knife

I just bought this fish knife because of the tang stamp. The mark side shows crossed branches (with acorns) and 2 x's on either side, and Solingen below. The pile side has "Robert Klaas Germany" I'm always looking at German knives on Ebay and other places, and have never seen anything like...

I've updated my spreadsheet that I did about 10 years ago with more detailed info from the manuscript.
Would you guys take a look and let me know of anything that I need to add, edit or delete.

Thanks for the article, very nice work! I exchanged emails with Ray, Joe and Kaleb Reynolds a few years back with the intention of doing something similar to what you have done. But sadly, all I ended up with is the Excel spreadsheet that's under the Tang Stamps discussion in the Knife Related Q &am...

Re: SMKW Red Bone Eye Brands: German?

I haven't heard that SMKW has purchased the Eye Brand name, but I guess it makes sense. The Eyes that I have handled over the past few years from the Olbertz factory have slipped considerably in quality. ::barf:: I looked at the red bones on the SMKW website and both the congress and large stockman ...

Re: Chas Clements - London Retailer

I know this thread has been dormant for a couple of years, but I just stumbled across it, and thought I would share a couple of pics. It is also tang-stamped Clements. I bought this knife at a flea market a few years back. It's big, the first pic shows a normal-sized copperhead as a comparison. The ...

Those are nice Scott!

I have an Imperial fixed blade just like the one you have listed.
That knife gets sharper than any knife I have ever had.

Re: Anyone bought any of these RR Cinnamon Bone?

If it's etched, it's the best job I've ever seen.
By the naked eye it looks legit, but I haven't looked at the edge under magnification. That's the next test.
If it is just an etch, I will post it.

Re: Anyone bought any of these RR Cinnamon Bone?

Hey Jerry, I definitely made a mistake there. When I looked for them on Ebay; I searched Rough Rider, and the one that I purchased was the cheapest BIN, $40 and change (at least free shipping). After I bought it I realized there were many more under Rough Ryder (and cheaper). ::mdm:: But, I am very ...

Dang@!,

You just cost me $41 :D
Not only does the bone and shield look great; it's damascus steel too.
It's also my favorite pattern (copperhead).
I can't wait to get it.

Attached is the listing photo.

Thanks!

Eye Brand??

I ran across this one on Ebay this morning. It sure looks like an Eye Brand, but it has a "Premium Stock Knife" etch with "Hammered Forged" tang stamp. On the pile side of the main blade there is a lion stamp. The seller calls it a Carl G. Pitzer knife. Frankenknife? ::shrug:: ht...

I can't wait to get this one!
Most Eye Brands are going for more than I'm willing to pay, but I think I lucked out on this one.
It's a 1984 Texas Knife Collectors Eye Brand 5.25" Moose. ::ds::

Thanks,
Keith
