Re: Northwoods Ocoee Jack

I really like the blade design. As someone who was late to the game and hasn't been able to get a Fremont Jack, this is a nice knife. I especially like the curvature of the handle compared to the Signal Jack. I'm bummed I wasn't able to get a Mammoth Signal Jack, but I'll live. I've been carrying/us...

Re: Dave Shirley Northwoods

and here I'd just like ONE of those Fremont Jacks...I got into the Northwoods game a little late. Oh well. Nice picture. Hopefully at least one of them gets some use.

Re: Northwoods Ocoee Jack

I got nothing ! no blues 30 seconds , no acrylic in one minute , I tried for the wood , nothing. How did some people get three ? Somebody is using special buying software ???? I've wondered this as well. While these knives are so hot and the resale so strong, I doubt people will be very forthcoming...

Re: Northwoods Ocoee Jack

once I missed 2-3 times I just randomly chose Ironwood until I hit. No idea which one I got. I continued to try for a Giraffe but got skunked. There were some really pretty Giraffes I must say. From very green to pale blue and everything in between. I tend to gravitate towards the more natural brow...

Re: Northwoods Ocoee Jack

Agreed, Cletus. I futzed around a bunch...stupidly. From my perspective, the Red/Black Micarta and Blue Sawbone sold out the fastest, maybe because you didn't have to select a specific handle as was mentioned above. I'm a glutton for punishment and kept hacking away at the giraffe bone.

Re: Northwoods Ocoee Jack

Nice! I bungled around for too long and was not decisive with handle materials. Usually I tilt toward green, but the tractor green didn't do it for me. I tried for the giraffe bone. Got lucky. #47

Re: Northwoods Ocoee Jack

They did release the Coolidge Jack just recently which had a different blade profile. Maybe demand is just higher for the 'Bohncliffe'?

Personally, I haven't decided on a handle material for this one. It'll likely be a 'user' for me regardless.

Re: Post your Favorite Northwoods Knife

Here's a shot of my two 'users'. In the background is my Madison Barlow in natural linen micarta and in the foreground is my every day carry Harrison Bay in denim micarta. Some may think it sacrilegious to use these fine Northwoods, but I get satisfaction out of cutting with them. I'm still learning...

Re: Northwoods Signal Jack

Appreciate the offer, KJ. I checked out Muskrat Man's web site. Very cool stuff.

Just checked eBay as well, for a Signal in Mammoth ... $599!!!! Seems nutty to me. I guess I could post a bid (low ball) and see if it goes through.

Re: Northwoods Signal Jack

Thanks guys. I know the mammoth is a niche and pipe dream material. I'm really bummed I missed this one and probably won't pay double... just not worth it since I'd use it. I use my Harrison Bay daily (promise to post pics of a used Northwoods). I use my Madison Barlow, too. Haven't used my Coolidge...

Re: Northwoods Signal Jack

I'm brand new to this forum and Northwoods knives, having only gotten into them last Fall (2018). I love them. Bought my first (harrison bay) through eBay and then signed up for the newsletter. Got a Madison Barlow and then a Coolidge Jack (giraffe bone, yay). I was really bummed about not being abl...
