Re: Anyone collect Watches?

I have a Ball watch but it's an oddball in the Ball lineup. It's a Quartz model called the Rail Roader. I have to replace the battery every 3 years or so. I could only find limited information on it so I contacted Ball a few years ago but I never got a response. I like the shape of the hands and the...

The Citizen Promaster Tough that I posted above has a sapphire crystal but the model was discontinued. I wanted something as tough as a G-Shock but with a fancier look.

Re: Anyone collect Watches?

The only Automatic watch I own is this Orient Ray 2. ::nod:: I like that Orient Ray 2, I tend to collect similar faces/styles. [/quote] Thanks Dog. I bought it mainly because I liked the looks of it and I wanted to try out a mechanical watch without spending a lot of money. I don’t wear it much any...

I admire watches too but I tend to prefer Quartz for their accuracy, ease of maintenance, and relatively low cost. The only Automatic watch I own is this Orient Ray 2. Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff

What I call a true Long Tom “original “ has only the long Tom marking with no brand name or model # . Made buy Cresent Tool company (1908-1916 ) .offered in 12 and 16 gauge .the price back then was 5.70 for the 36 inch barrel length and 6.20 for the 40 inch . I would like to have one on display on ...

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff

I considered a Bond Arms Derringer myself. I wanted the Texas Defefender but I changed my mind after watching a video of a guy standing about 3 feet from two 20 ounce bottles of water and he couldn’t hit either one of them. He was obviously a bad shot but I’m not exactly a professional marksman myse...

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff

If Long Tom is the only marking on it, it would have been made by Crescent Arms between 1908 & 1916. They were sold by Sears and many hardware stores Correcting myself, Stevens was also a mfg of them and not all were marked with the Stevens name, Thanks for the update. This is the only other ma...

Thank you. I will take a look here in a bit and see if that is the only marking.

If we have any old guns it would this Long Tom. My wife says it was either her Grandpa's or her Great Grandpa's gun. We really have no idea of its age.

For a couple of decades I’ve had my Rossi .38 Special loaded with Federal Hydra-Shok ammo for home defense. When I recently bought my Ruger .38 Special I switched to Hornady Critical Defense loads but I still have a partial box of the Hydra-Shok that is 18-20 years old. Can I still trust the 20 year...

I only own two handguns and my wife owns one. Mine are both 5-shot .38 Special revolvers. Hers is a .22 long rifle semi auto. I bought four raffle tickets for a drawing to be held in October. First place gets the choice of a Springfield Armory Hellcat or a Smith & Wesson Equalizer. Second place ...

Great pics, Mark! Thank you for sharing those.

I don’t know the official word yet but I would estimate that we got about 97% of totality in my area. There was just a thin sliver of the sun showing.

It was fun to watch. I’m glad I got off my keester and ran out and got glasses at the last minute.

The Dollar General glasses seem to be okay. It’s been pretty interesting here in the Midwest.

Looks like a Crescent Moon right now but it’s the Sun instead.

I had about a dozen chances to buy eclipse viewing glasses but passed on them because I wasn’t interested.

Now that the day is here and it’s mostly sunny, I wish I would have grabbed a pair.

Last night I finished reading “Trophy Hunt” the 4th book in the Joe Pickett series by C.J. Box. Interesting story for sure. I’m already seeing what Ken meant when he said each book is better than the last one. With 24 books in the series, I can only begin to imagine the entertainment that lies ahead...

I also use an Excel spreadsheet. Makes it easy to add and subtract knives as I buy and sell them. The “Auto Sum” feature also makes it easy to keep track of the total amount spent. ::tu:: Rick! If you want to insert pictures of your knives, this simply is what to do: 1. On the Insert tab select Pic...
