Re: Collections, Sub-Collections and Family Group Photos
As stated before, my main storage is an antique 24 drawer typographer's cabinet. Had to make some modifications to allow it to hold knives. As the drawers are only about 1 inch deep, it precludes storing most fixed blades. At present only 22 drawers are used for knives; the other 2 for miscellaneous...

Re: Collections, Sub-Collections and Family Group Photos
At a point I had become disenchanted with knives & decided to sell the entire assemblage. A gentleman back east that I knew made me a tremendous offer & I accepted it. Unfortunately(or fortunately as the case may be) he could not come up with the funds(I specified cash only) & that was t...

A buncha scout/utility knives and one very special Kamp King: my grandfather's that nearly amputated one of my fingers when I was 8 years old. I'm older now but am still wary of opening it.

Mind boggling ::cb::, knife7knut, and amazing, awesome, incredible, beautiful, fascinating, etc... Your collection(s) constitute nothing short of a knife museum. Would I be wrong in guessing you've only shown a fraction of your entire collection so far in this thread and there's still a lot more yo...

Re: Collections, Sub-Collections and Family Group Photos
Not sure exactly why. Might be my phone;been having some issues with it lately(shuts off & turns back on for no apparent reason). Might have something to do with the flying lessons it's occasionally subjected to.

Re: Two older advertising knives/watch fobs..ect
I have one(unmarked) like the 1st advertising the Marietta Torpedo Co. Torpedoes in this case were containers filled with nitroglycerine & dropped down into well shafts to put out oil well fires. The other one is new to me. EDIT: the torpedo's original use was to create oil wells. It was much la...

Not sure of the years or country of origin, but they seem to be of good quality. I have the bowie(massive 14 in.blade)and the damascus looks like large chunks of metal forge-welded together. Here are a couple pics.

Re: Imperial knife with a key blank.
Most if not all the Imperial key knives I've seen have early GM-style key blanks. These would fit the ignition & door lock only. Another key fit the trunk & glove box.
Here are 3 that I have: a J.C.&N, an Imperial, & a Robeson with a slide out key(Yale). All are uncut.

Mystery knife 24
Got this awhile back & have failed to find any info on it to date. Construction & finish reminds me of an old Bonsa knife I had once(metal sides & chrome plated). Engraved on the blade is: .A. SUMAR. J. with a fish . On one bolster the number 24 is stamped. Looks to be an inexpensive Ger...

Re: Remove dried paint
A Q-tip moistened with MEK & applied to the paint. Allow to set for 10 minutes & use a knife w/ blade held vertical to surface, gently scrape paint. Repeat if necessary & then use your preferred leather treatment. If MEK isn't available, lacquer thinner can be substituted

Switchblade bayonet?
Got this awhile back from a friend just because it was so unusual. Doubt that it is real military, but how many civilian rifles have a bayonet lug on them? Marked, '' Golden eliphat ''(that is how it is spelled) with a super-long patent number & a logo of an elephant & the name Yin Xiang . T...
