Re: Comfort Knives!
It's interesting to me when I think back to the 80"s. The flea markets were flooded with Parker knives. Most just considered them cheap Japanese junk and passed on by--me included. Now they are collectibles to some people. Who would have guessed ?

Re: Some eBay buyers/sellers are LOWER THAN LOW
My wife and I used to sell on Ebay years ago. It was great in the early years but it slowly got to the point where they treated their small sellers so bad it just wasn't worth the aggravation. I think some Ebay buyers make it a hobby to see if they can screw you over.

Re: My First Rough Ryder RR2181
Oscar, they are surprisingly good looking knives. Went by that thrift store this afternoon and the vendor had added these to the case. So at $5.00 a piece I couldn't pass on them. This is one of those little stores that rents out booths to different people and I have never met the seller but if they...

Nice name. You should have a conversation with Jeffin. He calls his store secondlifeknives and has been doing the same as you are attempting for quite a while. Good luck

Welcome, I hope you are successful in your new venture. I love old Colonial knives and am glad to see someone giving them new life. Seems most cutlers don't care to bother with them.

My First Rough Ryder RR2181
Stopped by my local Thrift store a while back and they had a display case of knives set out with 20 or 30 knives in it. Mostly junk but I saw 3 of these plus a yellow handle whittler carbon classic, your choice $5.00. Bought this one but passed on the whittler cause the blades were not right on it. ...

Civivi and Kershaw
As a relatively new knife collector I have spent the last couple of years gathering up a hoard of older American made knives such as Colonial, Schrade, Imperial and various other traditional pocket knives. Nothing very special compared to many collections I've seen here but I like them. I generally ...

Re: A Different Ethical Question
It always irritates me when I think about it but we have literally thousands of people everyday that are employed strictly to dream up new laws for us to obey. From the U.S. Congress and state legislatures all the way down to your local city council and home owners association there are stupid peopl...

Re: Wow! USPS Rate Changes effective July 9, 2023... could they be going down?
I have to give our local post office respect here in rural East Tennessee. Amazon is crushing my mail carrier. We used to get packages via UPS but they all come by USPS now. Our guy delivered a 100 watt solar panel kit to me yesterday that measures about 2 feet by 4 feet and weighed probably 25 or 3...

Re: 2023 POS Exchange
Got my package in today's mail from David (edge213). Noticed only a faint odor but asked my wife to open it for me just in case.
Thankfully she is ok after the initial shock wore off.

Providence Cut Co knives
Picked up a Providence Barlow a while back cheap at a yard sale and became interested in the brand. Inexpensive users with half stops some with slanted bolsters and take a wicked edge. Nothing very special about them. I'm guessing made in the 70's or 80's. They fit right in with my Colonial collecti...

High speed police chase
Just a little rant about a you tube video I saw. I overall generally try to support the police but in this video they are chasing a stolen Honda Civic in Miami Dade county for many miles through town and on freeways at speeds up to 100 miles an hour. The video is dash cam of Florida Highway Patrol c...

Re: Real Picture
Back in the early 70"s I spent a few years working in a paper bag factory. In my training as a machine operator I was issued a number of tools including a small wooden dowel about a foot long. When threading the wide roll of kraft paper onto the bag machine we used the wooden rod to hold the pa...

Never had one of these but years ago when I was about 8 years old my Grandad made a couple of rubber band guns using sticks and clothes pins. We had many epic battles with those. Brings back memories. Really miss him.

Same here. Always considered a Barlow as an old man's knife. Now I am an old man and carry one every day. Just the right size and does all I need to do.
