I recently sold one to another dealer for 75.00...it was in mint condition. Don't see them too ofter but collectors do like them!

Re: Flat grind 6265?
I have been watching this one also; wondering why the bidding hasn't gone higher? Looks good to me; am I missing something? Paul Cleaned to death and they're a bunch of 65 patterns out there. Even though it's a "flat" cleaned knives aren't as popular as they were a few years ago ::ds:: ::...

Feel sure it was a stolen account...happens with high dollar knives all of the time. Usually the knives are right but the seller isn't. They also want a wire transfer to their bank account. In addition, most of them are in the UK.

Re: world record case
Cool...thanks! I asked Bruce to forward it to me and he hasn't replied yet. Were you at the auction? I remember seeing jaws drop all through the room. It was really a bit of a bidding war between Travis (the buyer) and Joe Chance. One heck of a knife though...

Re: Bone Case Toe
It is from the late XX era. Knife looks to have been carried a some as well. Look closely the the bottom center pins on both sides, both look like the may very well be cracked. Could be the picture but I'd sure like to know before buying. Spectacular handles otherwise!

Re: Case Canoe With Roman Numeral Date Stamp
Not quite right. The Limited Edition are not tang stamped, just series number ink etched in Roman on blades. The Roman Numeral tang stamp knives were from the early 1990's and didn't last long. Have a niche market these days. Nice knife. Knifeswapper and LC hit the nail on the head! Frost did sever...

As memory serves me that auction was held in conjunction with the Pigeon Forge show in December of either 2005 or 2006. And that 6488 greenbone Tested reached a final bid total of $13,000 plus a 10& buyer's premium to achieve its final price with J. Bruce Voyles conducting the auction. It was p...

Re: GEC Knife ID
After fondling GEC knives for 3 years I can spot one from across the room. Some of their finest craftsmanship is in the contract knives they make. I saw a thread elsewhere about a guy that had a hundred or so beavertail patterns made a couple years ago with his name on the tang and now was trying t...

Hi Steve, These are some of the best I have ever bought; I have bought others that were more expensive but not as good. Paul http://www.ricksknives.com/Billscases/Billscases.htm Agreed, used them for years and never had a problem other than the cost. Rick is a great guy to deal with as well!

Re: Dalton, Ga nkca knife show
It's usually the best NKCA Show of the year. However, all shows are a bit slow now a days due to the economy. Most all of the big name pocket knife dealers will be set up there as well as GEC. Both Ken and Ryan Daniels of GEC will be on the front row, just down from me and right across from Bruce Vo...

Re: ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS BOLSTER MARK MEANS ???
gino, I'm not certain, but Houston Price, in his book PRICE GUIDE TO COLLECTOR KNIVES, mentions a set that Case issued in 1987: The Jack Daniels Old Number 7 set. 5,000 sets. Three knives displayed on a whiskey barrel plaque, Charcoal Bone handles, Knives were B6108, B6208, B6308. I can't tell from...

Re: USA Era - 6111 1/2 L - Display Board Knife - No Pattern #
Hey Steve, I do agree it would be fairly easy to buff the # off. Anytime I see one now I look at it with a loop. I have seen around 25 or so and Tony states about the same. First time I seen one I didn't believe it but Tommy Clark verified it and he's about the best I know. I bought one pumpkin box ...

Re: Tuna Valley Cutlery Co - First Release! - For Johnnie Fain
Thanks for the bids so far guys! There is a Case connection with the Tuna Valley name. David Anthony will be doing a write up on it for Knife World in the near future. It will be on what little is known about the old mark and how I came across it.

Re: USA Era - 6111 1/2 L - Display Board Knife - No Pattern #
I talked Tony Foster into adding the "no pattern #" for the USA 6111 1/2's to his list about two years ago. They are actually more rare than the one's with the extra "1". Although no pattern # is more rare he books them at $600.00 while he books the extra 1 at $1,200.00. He and I...

I wouldn't be too concerned about the shield, the older Case knives had "normal" shields, this one looks fine to me.
